    woody - is there a solution to stop this issue in the future? i.e can the bricks be treated with something to prevent it getting worse?

    Crumbling Bricks

    I have a wall around my house with what look like fairly old bricks. While most are in good condition some (dotted all over the place) appear to be crumbling away to a powder, leaving the hard mortar hanging in mid air. Any idea what might be causing only certain bricks to turn to powder?
