cracks in garden wall

The crack looks too even to be due to any foundation movement

Those are the wrong type of brick, and they don't like constant wetting and drying and so crack as the wall shrinks on drying

This may be assisted by the mortar being much too strong and inflexible so the bricks crack and not just the joints

woody - is there a solution to stop this issue in the future? i.e can the bricks be treated with something to prevent it getting worse?

It wont get much/any worse as normally the brickwork will only expand/contract by a set amount and once its cracked that will be it. But having said that, it may not have finished contracting yet

Similar thing if its due to mortar being too strong

Its a weak point now so new bricks may not help and will stand out too much, so may be best to just fill with some mastic
