    L.E.D Bulbs Switchover

Do you know that france has 60 nuclear power stations and China is building 150 new nuclear stations. Do you know that ? All countries are. So ... we are going to do the same. All this Greta nonsense means nothing. We don't need to stop breathing to save the goddam "environment" (wherever...

    L.E.D Bulbs Switchover

I hear the Government is now run by Great Guilttrip Thunberg and so we all have to have the L.E.D insect lighting in our homes. Anyone else hate this lighting? Is this going to revert to sanity in the future, or is this part of the Great Reset Generation Insect?

    Dismantling old Sylvania Downlights?

Nothing visible at all the socket has an inner and outer that shifts very slightly but it's quite fragile plastic I've already chippped a bit. I actually just swapped the visibe lamp casing and kept the inner socket the same, just finished it.

    Reducing Scaffolding Noise

The world is more mindless every day, there is great resistance in people to think about what they are doing. Scaffolders and many other people just make more noise every day with more machines. Cancer rates go up, their children take prozac or hide in computers to get away from it all...

    Reducing Scaffolding Noise

I am starting to notice that the cars on the road have their lights on in the daytime. ... in order to save energy or something ... People are just losing their sanity, their no reasoning with them, for all I know they try to make everything as noisy and stupid as possible because they no longer...

Metal Roofing : Second Floor Terrace

Sure, there are other similar terraces on the road so I think it would be straightforward on that basis.

Metal Roofing : Second Floor Terrace

Hi, I own a maisonette and thinking about putting a terrace at 2nd floor level, there is a kitchen at the first floor level with a pitched roof. Wondering if putting corrugated metal on a low pitch with a wooden deck above is a good long term solution which won't require re-roofing often and...

    Halogen Downlight Intumescent Hood

Hi, I have a pair of halogen gu10 downlights in a gable, Victorian flat. They downlights hang at 45 degrees due to the slope and let in a lot of draught. I just want to check that I can use the hoods safely, by taking the units out and pushing the hoods through the hold and glueing them in...

    Reducing Scaffolding Noise

New scaffolding went up yesterday, I kid you not, about 5 doors down. There's a guy there, wearing blue - hello there, who is removing the render from the extension. And you know what he's down a damn good job, it's coming off clean quickly and he's got a small power tool doesn't make that much...

    Reducing Scaffolding Noise

Oh yeah this reminds me of something else. The council sent a team round to chop off some branches from one of the Elms round here. Stuck a wood chipper in the middle of the street and every 20 minutes or so ... we get the 100db "noise" horror. Every 20 minutes, just goes on. Guys just standing...

Reducing sound through party wall, which insulation?

Sandwich construction is best because it takes out different frequencies of sound, and causes the sound to refract and lose energy. I would try using : blue board + foam + high density rubber membrane (link below) or blue board + woolroll + high density rubber or double blue board + high...

    Reducing Scaffolding Noise

I spoke to some guys on one site, they turned down their stereo for the afternoon. Next day full blast. Tell you something, lady up the road died in Spring, older woman was disturbed by all the noise, a building site was erected in front of her for some renovation project, noise all day. Had...

    Reducing Scaffolding Noise

Nobody likes noise. Right now there are some scaffolders round the back, probably been doing there thing for 3 hours now. This morning at 8 there was a leaf blower gardening guy at the front, then after him some scaffold was put up on a different site. That's pretty typical at the moment. Up...

    Reducing Scaffolding Noise

I wonder if something like this could be put on the impact drivers. It reduces noise in this video from about 100db to 60db.
