    Well, i decided to just buy it, if it goes pear shaped, i have paypal to fall back on! Anyway, took the PCB apart and i think its fairly conclusive, that its gubbed. The tranny appears to be the culprit. you can see its actually melted the case

    no hot water tonight! checked the bolier, was dead as a dodo! MCBs from the consumer unit hadnt tripped, and the 3A internal PCB fuse was OK. Thus, (and after looking through the manual) i have conculded that the PCB is gubbed? ANyone else got anything to add? its just dead, no power at...

    wondering (on the off chance) if anyone has decomisioned an Ideal icos HE24 boiler and still has the the two isolation valves. they form part of ideals "hardware pack" product code 174240, which will cost just shy of £100. kinda grudge paying that when i only need the 2 valves. Many thanks
