Radiant Gas Fire and Flue Liner

themum Regrettably this forum has no facility for private messages, and to post an email address on here would be too dangerous, and I doubt if it would be allowed anyway If you think I would be able to give you any further information the only way would be to use a forum that does allow...

    caulking where tile meets bath

This is an interesting thread, and some good advice. Unfortunately, I have the same problem at present, there is an ½" gap between the bath and the bottom of the tiles. The bath has obviously not been fixed correctly, but it is too big a job for me to alter it. So it seems that the only way...

    British Gas Homecare 200

kmmr99 Contracts like this depend on your own personal circumstances. If you are living alone for instance, and no man in the house, they can be a godsend. Engineers who advertise in Free papers for instance are notorious for not turning up, in spite of their promises. British Gas only...

Radiant Gas Fire and Flue Liner

themum I worked for British Gas for many years, and remember this fire well. Economic was the name of the firm that made it. They had no connection with any of the other manufacturers that you mention. They originally manufactured wash boilers, and hand operated washing machines, and were...

Radiant Gas Fire and Flue Liner

I think the Seafire was made by Economic. As the efficiency of the fire was only just over 60%, it did not usually need a flue liner.

    Defective grouting over the bath.

It was the horizontal joints. The bath was fitted before she moved in,and apparently a quick job as part of a hurried refurbishment to sell the house. The bath seems to be rigid, but I doubt if it was filled with water as it should have been before the sealant was applied. There seemed to be...

    Defective grouting over the bath.

My daughter has a shower fitted over the bath. Because the grouting deteriorated on about 6 of the 4x2" tiles, water has dripped down through the kitchen ceiling below. I have now removed them, and cleaned them up ready to replace them, and waiting for the wall to dry out. The thin coat of...

Loft boarding _HELP, and some considerations

Think carefully, before you board it over. This seems to have gone out of fashion now, because most people want really thick insulation up there. If you have a pile of junk up there, you would probably be unable to install insulation as thick as is being recommended now.

    Gas hob faulty?

If it is a new hob, it should be under guarantee for 12 months. Obviously something wrong with the way the hob is connected, because there is insufficient gas getting to it. Is it connected with a flexible tube? Is there a tap in line, which is not fully turned on/

    DRY EMULSION PAINT

Surprising perhaps, but Vaseline Intensive Care applied to the emulsion paint will soften it if left on for a while, then it can be scraped off quite easily.

    Gas or Electric Oven?

That Canon cooker which you had was a fine piece of kit. I may have even sold it to you if you live in Leicestershire.:) Canon Cookers are still available, with the self-clean linings. Look for the Indesit Graded Centre adverts in the Leicester Mercury, they supply them at very reasonable...

    Which Gas Cooker?

Cannon do make good cookers and have been in the business for a long time. The Chester is ok, but have you considered the Westminster?. The grill is at high level,so it is easier to use, the oven consequently is higher, and easier to use. It also has self clean oven linings, and storage...

Masonary paint on internal Ceiling..EXPERT ADVICE NEEDED

About 2 years ago, I was painting our bedroom ceiling, and after it was done, and was packing up the materials, I was horrified to find that I had picked up the wrong tin, and used masonry paint. But it looked alright, and still does, so I am leaving it. :D
