Drayton Thermostat not turning boiler off

Ok bit more info. Its decided to work again. The thermostat works NC with 240v at a lesser temp. Switching it to run gives 0v. I wasn't getting these voltages before so I'm edging my bets it's a relay in the programmer that's breaking down.

Drayton Thermostat not turning boiler off

We have an old Baxi Solo boiler which is will be replaced in the next few years and repositioned but until then I'm gonna have to try and keep her running! Last night I noticed the temp getting warmer than normal. After turning the thermostat down (British Gas RS2 rebadged Drayton for 2 wire...

Grohe basin waste to bottle trap issue

So it is a Euro vs UK standard thing. Thank you, makes sense with the Grohe mixer taps needing 3/8 to 15mm adapters!

Grohe basin waste to bottle trap issue

Thanks alot. Id planned on modifying the internal diameter if needed but didn't want to do it unnecessarily if it made something none standard. First attempt at anything like this and even my younger brother that was a plumber for 10 years before he gave it up, suggested it but said they should...

Grohe basin waste to bottle trap issue

Good evening, I'm currently revamping the small downstairs loo where everything bar the toilet is out. We have bought the new basin, mixer tap, waste click/clack and bottle trap but have found an issue with the trap spigot not sitting in the click/clack. I've attached some photos which will no...

Small toilet floor hiding water pipes

Hiya Ken, Thanks for taking the time to give me your thoughts. I will be taking into consideration the insulation of the heating. Nothing is currently insulated at all, so anything better than I have is a bonus right now. I've successfully filled in a portion of the floor which had cracked...

Small toilet floor hiding water pipes

Hi folks, After abit of advice. At the moment our small toilet has surface boxed water feeds to toilet, basin and CH. All the other rooms have channeled ducts which are topped with a floor board which is recessed. I'd like to replicate that in the toilet as the boxing in looks unsightly. The...

    Help with choosing TRVs

Ah makes sense. Never thought to ask if they would do just the TRVs. (I've already bought Pegler wheel valves and locksheilds which some will get used in the bathroom and where the stat will live, the rest I'll resell on eBay) Tried bobbing you a quick PM to see what's what but think your...

    Odd mortar discoloration

We had a brand new block paved drive laid last October and although this has been like this for a while, it's been dark going to work/coming back and wet. This week when coming home I've noticed the below photo. Thoughts please? Thank you

    Help with choosing TRVs

Got to admit, I've watched the YouTube vid of setting the trv to the radiator output which for a competent person but a non plumber looked relatively easy.

    Help with choosing TRVs

Thank you for posting up. Would i be right to assume your in the trade yourself? Thing is, I'm in engineer but we all have our preferred bits of kit that we plug. Some sales driven but for me just because if we are maintaining the kit, we want the least amount of hassle from it serviceable and...

    Help with choosing TRVs

Easier said than done for me. I'm quite fussy when it comes to that. I don't mind paying more for a product that will last that bit longer and is well thought out. Cheapest has never been my thing, although I like a deal! There is even less in terms of research/reviews on these TRVs! I have...

    Damp internal wall since replastered

Hi Ken, Sorry half a$$ed attempt. I'll clarify. There was no evidence of damp/wet plaster when removing the cill. I'm removing them and putting new in as we have not long since had new matching double glazed windows in which they weren't when we moved in. I've had the wall paper off around...

    Damp internal wall since replastered

Rather than post in the plastering and rendering I thought I'd go general to start with. I've recently took the window bottom off which pulled all the plaster off. I've now had this replastered and noticed that the plaster is wet/damp on one side. This has been dry since weekend however we...

    Help with choosing TRVs

I'm slowly but surely replacing all the radiators with convectors and new valves. The new radiator I've fitted in our bedroom doesn't have a TRV fitted at present as personally I'm not a fan of them. However, I've noticed that since fitting the new radiator it could do with being a tad cooler...

    Karcher WV2 Window Vac Repair

Thanks for ya reply. I already have a brand new one I'm using at the moment. This was strictly a project to see if I could get it running again for me to have a back up. Bearing in mind the unit is 4 years old... Warranty isn't the issue!
