"Scroll Saw Adapter" - opinion please!

Hi All, Just seen this on the 'net and I'm not impressed after watching the video. Anyone had experience with these or anything similar? http://www.neutechnik-toolshop.com/products/jigsaw-table-accessories/scroll-saw-adapter/ Also would be pleased to hear from anyone who has adapted their...

    4.5 volt C cells?

I've been using AA rechargeables for years, no problem. But all the AAA calls I've tried have failed in a short time, so I don't bother with them any more. Also the Li-ion cell mentioned costs 16 quid plus the charger!

    4.5 volt C cells?

Thanks all, and John! 8) I'd already Googled it, and having no useful results decided to ask here. Oh well, I must have been dreaming! The AAAs I use are normal Alkaline, therefore the output is 4.5v. I think I mentioned that rechargeable AAAs are useless.

    4.5 volt C cells?

Hello All, Am I dreaming or do I remember that you could buy 4.5 volt c size batteries years ago? I have one of those mini-LED torches and it's got a 3xAAA cell adapter sort-of-thing, which seems very close to C cell size. I wonder if it was made to replace such cells? What I want...

    Can "Multifunction Tools" cut concrete?

Hello Everyone! I need to channel out the concrete floor in our house to run low-voltage (telephone, network) cables across doorways. I've been thinking to invest in a "Multifunction Tool" such as Bosch PMF 250 or similar for this and other tasks. Has anyone tried to cut concrete with...

Dangerous "grinding" disk on the market...

I don't know if you've got these in the UK but just in case, a general warning... I recently bought a few 125mm disks for my angle grinder which I thought could be used for "grinding" (something which most disks are NOT suitable for), as the disks bore the word GRINDING in big letters. It...

Anyone seen a "Jumping Jesus" lately?

WoW! That took me back some years!!! Thanks Alastair and John... Added the video to my favs! The exact one that I saw is shown at 1:28 in this video (shame he doesn't demonstrate how it was started!): I remember the domed fuel tank and thin connecting rod...

Anyone seen a "Jumping Jesus" lately?

not what I'm looking for, those have a normal 2/4 stroke engine and a vibrating plate... thanks anyway  I don't want to buy one, just wondered if they still exist anywhere...

Anyone seen a "Jumping Jesus" lately?

Nothing to do with DIY so I hope I've used the right forum! When I were a lad, some workmen were laying cables/pipes/whatever in some parts of the village. They were using an interesting "device" to compact the soil (and probably tarmac) and I've never seen one of them since. It was a...

    Any alternative to welding?

I considered bike hooks but the problem is getting the bikes on and off of them - don't forget we are over stairs here! Thanks for the Dexion suggestions, that's a good idea but (unf.) I've already bought the steel as I was going to have it welded professionally... Maybe I can use...

    Any alternative to welding?

I'm planning to construct a platform, hinged at one side, over the steps leading down to my basement. The platform will be surfaced with 15mm OSB and used to store bicycles as there's no-where else available. I was thinking to make the framework out of 30mm steel square section tubes; just a...

FERM - is this too good to be true?

Thanks for that Job&; got a Makita HR2470 but I think it's a copy as it's "Made in PRC" and smells very plasticy. Anyway, it does the job and after years using "chuck" drills it's a pleasure to use an SDS.

FERM - is this too good to be true?

Looking for a reliable SDS or semi-pro hammer drill. Saw this on Amazon, anyone got an opinion? http://amzn.to/TsEx1W "FERM FBH-1500 Combi Hammer, Chisel Hammer, Hammer Drill" (Read some other comments on FERM elsewhere in the forum but from 2007. Want an up-to-date opinion please!)

Underfloor heating - electric cables BELOW concrete floor?

Hello there, I ws thinking to install electric underfloor heating onto the ceiling (concrete) of the basement under our kitchen, possibly fixing the cables with a suitable mastic/cement, then insulating below as required. I hope that this would work like an "Economy 7 storage heater"...
