This may sound daft but can you still get punctures repaired and, if so, what is the rough cost? :? ============================ please see forum rule 9

How do I connect coaxial cable to a roof ariel?

My TV ariel has been blown over/down on my roof and I want to move it into the loft as it won't have to succumb to the high winds where I live (on the coast). 1)How easy is it to disconnect the coaxial from the ariel on the roof itself? 2) Is reconnecting the cable just the opposite of the...

Stripped walls - now want to paint what's underneath

Zampa, thanks for the swift reply. Looks like it will have to be the lining paper then.... What grade lining paper should I use and, can I just put it on after I've filled / sanded the cracks and also sanded down the flaking paint ? :?

Stripped walls - now want to paint what's underneath

Zampa, is there really no way I can just sand the flaking paint off, PVA the walls and then just paint ? I really don't want to go down the lining-paper path :(

Stripped walls - now want to paint what's underneath

Hi, I've recently stripped the wallpaper from one of my kid's bedrooms and now want to paint (rathere than line/re-paper) it. The walls underneath have been painted in what I think is matt-silk which looks rather shiny  and, some of the paint has also come away with the paper when I...

    Tile below Ridge is cracked

The tile that sits directly underneath the end ridge tile on my roof has cracked/split in two. Is there any way I can repair this without removing the ridge-tile (chiselling out mortar etc.) i.e is there some way of cementing the tile back together ? Or, will I have to get the ridge tile...

    pipe clips / pipe support

I recently got my washing machine moved from my kitchen to my downstairs utility/cloakroom . The plumber 'T'd' off a 42cm length of copper pipe from the main cold water supply pipe above the shut off valve (behind the lavatory) . At the end of this pipe is small blue shut off valve followed...

    Escort central locking

My Ford Escort central locking seems to be 'faulty'. It's an 'N' reg 1.6 LX hatchback. I can lock/unlock the car from the drivers side but only lock it on the passenger side. Also, the little red light (alarm) that flashes intermittently on the dashboard doesn't do it now. Any ideas ? :?

    Ford Escort rear fog lights.

Can someone please tell me if both fog lights on my Escort have to be working? I have an MOT tomorrow and was wondering if both of them have to be working or just the near side(driver's side). The reason I ask is that the wife reversed into a concrete bollard and smashed the boot/rear end...

Plug in (Bayonet ) fluorescent lights

Does such a thing as these exist? I'm sure I've seen them somewhere before but can't remember where!! It's just the same principle as a normal bayonet lightbulb but a fluorescent light instead. If they do, does anyone know where I can get one ? :?

    1) It's not on a PIR 2) Yes - every night. 3) Not that I can see 4) No - it's at the side of the door under the porch so there's no contact with water. :?
