    Tunnelling animals

At 10cm it's more than likely going to be TexMex's suggestion of Rats. Badgers would take up the whole vegetable patch not just a small hole and foxes will be seen (and heard) by you.

    Lavender Problems

If you cut back lavender too much it goes into shock and dies. It only usually likes the last years growth to be removed. But, give it a go and see what happens, if it dies get another - if it doesn't you've saved some money, but chances are it will die.

Mouse water damage and replacement advice?

I use a wireless optical mouse and find it MUCH better than a corded mouse. It also has a tilting wheel to scroll sideways as well as vertically, and 2 thumb buttons which I have set to page forward and back. Mice are so cheap now they are more or less disposable.

    Snails

If using the blue pellets make sure you clear away the dead snails on a daily basis so that other wildlife (such as frogs, hedgehogs, thrushes) doesn't eat the poisoned snails and get poisoned as well. I send any snails I find flying into the road.

    Greenfly

Any advice on getting rid of greenfly/aphids on herbs? I don't want to use chemicals as I would like to use the herbs. I have heard that spraying with soapy water will do it. Why soapy water? and will that affect the growth/taste of the herbs? Thanks.

    usb colours

To me it doesn't actually sound like it's the USB leads. Could it be the leads for the power LED, disk activity LED, Reset button and power button? They'll be 4 leads with different colour connectors.

    usb colours

At a guess it's the new unified colour management rule for M/B's. Memory Channel A = light green Channel B = purple Primary IDE = blue Secondary IDE = white USB 2.0 = yellow Serial ATA 150 = orange there are a few other colours as well your M/B manual should tell...

    Cannon Cooker problem

If it lights, stays low, then goes out after 30 seconds or so then it is the ffd. If it lights, and stays lit but on low, it is most likely a faulty thermostat. It is worth checking the ffd sensor position though, and also the thermostat sensor position. Srodders (an ex-Cannon employee)

Looks like I need to buy another 6 place settings before I buy a dishwasher  I do agree that they are more hygeinic, but in a lot of circumstances they are not as energy efficient.

Lawns: first cut of the year?

Did my first cut four weeks ago, waiting for it to dry up a bit as it badly needs cutting again now. I use the mower on a high setting up until end of April though. Saw the first House Martins of the year on Monday. Any made it to England yet?
