How to renovate this external door?

Hi all Love the door; hate the colour. Lighter colour is the original colour (first picture) which we much prefer. Darker colour (the other two pictures) seems to be stained. Can I simply sand this back to the original lighter colour and then seal it? Other option is painting, which I assume...

How to re-wire this very old lamp

Thank you, that's really useful. I understand all of it, but what is a "10mm lighting bar and adapter"? Google search throwing up too many options! D'you mean like a hole threaded bar? Thank you again, really helpful

How to re-wire this very old lamp

How to re-wire this very old lamp

Hi all I want to re-wire this 3-bulb lamp which has very old European/American wiring. Question: I can obviously unscrew the wires at the bulbs and probably then pull out the wiring from the base, but how would I then drive new wiring back up the base and back into each of the curved arms...

How can I get well hung?

Foam tape is a great idea, thanks. I'm now heading towards the shelf idea, simply because I'm worried the weight of it will tear the top off, if it's 'hanging' off something Foam tape is really good idea though, if I can be more assured re coherency of the piece itself

How can I get well hung?

The inside face of the reverse side is an irregular shape (as it's from a mould), so I could only adhere a board to the inside sides which are straight. Would this be enough?

How can I get well hung?

Final option is to create a shelf to lean it on, rather than hoping it doesn't fall apart from it's own weight!

How can I get well hung?

I had a similar idea, and I've made the first test batten with a slight 'ledge', though not a full cleat.

How can I get well hung?

Howdy all I want to display a heavy marble resin sculpture on my wall, but I'm struggling to figure out the safest way to 'hang' it. It weighs about 20kg, and - unfortunately - I can't drill into it or otherwise attach any other kind of fixing. The picture shows the reverse of the piece; you...

How to cut this thick timber?

I should add, I'm not looking to cut it both sides, as my chainsaw will reach all the way through with one pass. So I'm not deeping, as such? Rather just wanting to cut straight

How to cut this thick timber?

Hi all I have these 24cm x 12cm x 3.2m timber, that I want to cut lengthways via the short edge (as per yellow line in picture) Problem - a standard circular saw isn't deep enough to cut through, even if I cut both sides. Does anyone know of a decent jig I could use with a chainsaw? The cut...
