Oven tripping RCD occassionally when on for long time

Oven about 2 years old fromn new - previously running fine. Tenant now states that sometimes, particularly when oven is on for long time that the RCD trips. They have oisolated it to the oven and not the hob (on same circuit, 32A MCB), and say that the hob does not need to be on for it to...

Another Soil Pipe question with image

Hi - it's a plan view, looking from A - so waste doesn't go uphill. So I do mean turn right looking from above. I think I have also highlighted some measurements that are sufficient to describe the situation (I use the term vertically and horizontally in respect of the diagram, so you know the...

Another Soil Pipe question with image

I need to connect A to C via B. The horizontal distance between A and the wall is about 70cm. The vertical distance betwen A and B is about 1.4m. The vertical distance between B and C is about 1m. The horizontal distance between A and C is about 1.4m So issue is, I'd really like to keep...

f values (fibre stress) for C16 and C24 Timber Joists?

Does anyone know the fibre stress (f)( values TRADA use in their Joist Span Tables? I have f values of 7.5 and 5.1 respectively for C24 and C16 timbers, but I have no idea if these are the values that TRADA use for the standard tables. Any ideas?

    Joist weight/mass per m3

    Thanks John, so at 480 I get 0.058 =(0.6) that's right?

    Joist weight/mass per m3

I want to try to calculate the the appropriate size of joists for various loads from first principles without reference to the standard tables (as these tables exclude joist weight). I know there is a lot to this calculation, but my first issue is trying to calculate the weight in kN/m3 of the...

    metal conduit

Yes that's right. I was in a pub the other week and saw metal conbduit being used and it looked good. Another thought would be to use this http://www.enamelshades.co.uk/4_Outlet_Steel_Ceiling_Rose/p1102281_9828753.aspx ... so I'd connect the 1.5mm T&E and then run four separate corded...

    metal conduit

Thanks - I ask because I am thinking about running parallel lights from an existing ceiling rose and didn't want to run the cable above the ceiling - instead I was going to use these below the ceiling??

    metal conduit

Not used metal conduit before - http://www.tradingdepot.co.uk/DEF/product/!!TD20GTEE!!/A006015/Electrical%20Supplies/Conduit%20/%20PVC%20&%20Steel%20Conduit/Metal%20/%20Steel%20Conduit%20&%20Accessories/20mm%20Galvanised%20Tee%20Junction%20Box with these Tees do you simply just use a...

    Lighting circuit

OK, left all the switches out because of inability to draw them in easily. S1, S2, etc controls L1, L2, etc. S1 is wired up to L1 at the ceiling rose. I am simply running off of L1 to L1a, etc. in parallel to L1, which means S1 would control L1, L1a, L1b, L1c.

Yes, got that, really meaning in respect of running the parallel lamps.

    Lighting circuit

    e.g. CU -> L1 -> L2 -> L3 -> L4 -> L5 -> END If I want three of the five to run parallel lamps, e.g at L1, the switch also controls L1a, L1b, L1c, such that the circuit looks like : Line in - L1 -> L1a ->L1b -> L1c -> END (and similarly L2 and L3 do the same), Apart from the usual...

    Soakers for 300 x 600 slates

    2.5mm versus 4mm flex

OK - does anyone have the CCC of 2.5mm flex (just in case). The hob is 6.5kw, so max current is 28A?
