    Yes my roof is like that but the ceiling joists run in the opposite direction to wall that I want to knock down, So at present the ceiling joist run over the top of the wall and thus are partly supported by it.

    Thanks for the advice gcol. Have had an offer of 18mm ply (not marine or water proof) for free. Enough to cover the area I am tiling. Would it be ok to use this and then put 6mm marine ply on top? I would stagger the joints again with the 6mm ply. Or would I be better off just buying 22m...

    Tiling on timber floor

    Hi all, I am going to tile a bathroom floor and will be using Plywood as the base for the tiles. Will plywood on its own (no floor board just straight onto the joists) be ok. The ply I am using is 22 mm thick? Any help appreciated
