Can anyone help? I have attempted to refill my sealed system and have got pressure up to 1 bar after bleeding all rads. I then ran the central heating for a couple of hours and then re bled rads and left the system overnight. This morning the pressure was back at zero. There are no...

    Internal sand and cement render/undercoat

Hi, I have built an internal wall across a room and want to tie it in with the wall on both sides. The original wall has a sand and cement undercoat and I want to do the same with the new wall. No problems plastering it but what ratio of sand cement should I mix for the undercoat (about 1...

    Thermostatic valve position.

The whole system is drained at the moment and I did not want to fill it only to find that the valve was on the wrong side and then have to drain and refill again. The TRV I have is bi-directional are there any issues with fitting it on the return. I have a 50-50 chance of getting it right...

    Thermostatic valve position.

Hi, I hope this is not a daft question. Can I put the thermostat on either side of the rad or does it have to be on the feed side? I seem to remember my plumber saying that on micro bore it did not matter. The system I have is a feed and return loop connected to a combi.

    central heating protector.

I will be refilling my system next weekend. I want to use a protector and have found a concentrated product that seems to be well recommended. How do these concentrate products do compared with the normal 4Ltr cartons? The one I am looking at getting is applied with a normal mastic gun.

    refilling combi system

It was drained to move a rad and fit 2 new ones in hall and new room. No solder flux as all connections to rads are straight into valves with 15mm to 10mm reducers. Also connection to 2 x new manifolds is push fit. So other than Pressure release valve have I got it about right?? Only...

Thanks PlumGas, Can you confirm that I have the pieces of the joint in the right order. There are 3 pieces. The larger piece goes in the valve, the olive goes in the middle and the smaller piece goes in the nut that screws onto the valve end. The olive sits in between the two other...

Radiator valve 15mm to 10mm reducer fitting.

Hi, I have bought six 15mm to 10mm valve reducer compression joints. Can anyone tell me if I need to use some plumbers mate when I place the 2 halves of the compression joint into the valve and onto the pipe. Or will the joints be ok as they are?

Hi, Can anyone recommend a good way of bending 10mm pipe? I only need to bend it through 90 deg. Are mini pipe benders any good? The bend will be below the point at which it rises to the rad. many thanks...
