Viessman Boiler Service - Warranty and Who Can Do It

I have a Viessman boiler that was installed around a year and a half ago and is now overdue the service. I called the installer who advised a price of £78. I am also getting a new bathroom in just now and the plumber said he would do it for £35 and is Gas Safe registered. Do I have to...

It is in comfort mode and the dial is higher than the dot. I'll call Viessmann today. Thanks for your help.

New Viessmann - Hot Water Takes Ages

I've now have the boiler in Comfort mode but the same happens. The temp showing on the boiler starts around 30 degrees C when hot water hasn't been on for a bit, then boiler comes on slowly to begin with and heats up to around 60 degrees C after 60-75 seconds. Are you saying it's quite...

New Viessmann - Hot Water Takes Ages

Following on from my earlier post, I've been living with the 60-75 seconds the hot water takes to come through. I've noticed that if I turn the tap on and run hot water through for a bit, then turn it off for 30 seconds or so, then turn it back on, I get hot water to begin with which will...

Viessmann 100 F4 Fault - Frozen COndensate Pipe

Ok, Installer was Aberdeen Heating, I emailed this morning at 7.30am and got a reply at 7.45am telling me to check the condensate pipe. Good service and avoided any call outs and fixed the problem.

Viessmann 100 F4 Fault - Frozen COndensate Pipe

This is more for info in case anyone else has the same fault reading over the festive period. I had an F4 fault this morning on a recently installed Viessmann 100 combi boiler. I contacted the installer, who correctly predicted that it would be a frozen condensate pipe rather than a fault...

New Viessmann - Hot Water Takes Ages

You are right Chris, there is a 22mm pipe in the airing cupboard where the hot water cylinder used to be. It goes under the floor so no idea how long the pipe is before it goes back to 15mm to the taps. Cheers.

New Viessmann - Hot Water Takes Ages

Checked the pipes, the DHW and the cold water pipes going in to (and out of) the boiler are 15mm, also checked the pipes under the kitchen sink and in the bathroom and they are also 15mm. The house was only built in 1992, I take it they would have been fitting 15mm pipes back then? For...

New Viessmann - Hot Water Takes Ages

Thanks muggles and agile, I suspect you may both be right. I'll check when I go home. I was never asked about changing the existing pipework out and never saw him removing pipework from the kitchen. Would it be a big job to do now that the boiler is fitted? If this is the case, should I...

New Viessmann - Hot Water Takes Ages

Thanks mysteryman, does the Comfort mode use a lot more gas then?

New Viessmann - Hot Water Takes Ages

I got a new combi boiler, Viessmann Vitodens 100 fitted at the end of October this year. The hot water takes around 75 seconds to reach a hot temperature in the kitchen. The boiler is installed in a garage, which is directly joined on to the house and is fitted behind the kitchen wall. The...

    Wet Plinth Heather or Electric?

I currently have a wet plinth heater in my kitchen which has been there since the house was built 18 years ago or so. I've just moved in and am getting a new kitchen installed next week. Would you recommend getting a new wet plinth heater such as a Dimplex BUH19BWS or go for an electric one...

More Loft Insulation / Higher Joists

I currently have 100mm or so of loft insulation which is level with the current joists. On top of the joists I have some boards used purely for storage of some light boxes. I have Miller Pattison coming round next Monday to top up the insulation to over 270mm I think it is. Before they...

    Electric Shower Flow Problem?

I'm not sure about the water, as far as I know I live in a soft water area but wouldn't swear. I took the shower head off to eliminate a problem with that as described above. I agree about electric showers but am stuck with one for now unfortunately.

    Electric Shower Flow Problem?

Thanks for all that. Stopcock is fully open. I have removed the shower head and turned on the shower at its coldest setting. The flow is over 13 litres per minute. However when I turn the temperature of the shower up the flow obviously reduces and starts to spurt out around midway up the...

    Electric Shower Flow Problem?

I have a problem with my Triton Opal II 10.5kW electric shower. The temperature isn’t constant, it seems to vary in a similar way to a sinusoidal wave. It goes from lukewarm to hot every few seconds. After further investigation, I took the shower head off and it seems to be linked to the...

    CH not working - blockage??

I cant see any square fittings im afraid. Radiator has hexagonal fittings on the top where you can bleed the air off. Are these normally at the bottom of the radiator? Ive checked the pipework I can see, but nothing there either.

    CH not working - blockage??

I dont have a hose pipe but Ill get one tomorrow and give this a try thanks. You mention drain off and backfill system. Does that mean the water in the radiators is draining off and not staying full?

    CH not working - blockage??

My girlfriends heating has packed up today. The system is gravity fed from a tank in the loft. When we put the CH heating on via the programmer the boiler fired up for a minute or so and went off. The pump was making a funny noise then. The pipe between the boiler and the pump was really hot...
