I tried it last night by leaving the hot tap on the bathroom sink open a little & it seemed to work 100%; as I assume the boiler stayed on during the whole of the shower. Is there a permanent fix to this at all; or is this just the way it is? Thanks.

You are completely correct; the boiler goes on & off at certain points during a shower. What does this tell us?

I agree it is not a good combo but it does look good & was put down by the previous owner & I don't see the point pulling it up just for a small area that has been damaged; it does really notice. I'll leave it to sort itself out as you say. Thanks.
