Hello all, I managed to get the first course of my retaining wall laid yesterday and stopped about 9pm last night covering the work in case of rain. I was using a mortar mix of 1 cement to 5 sand and a splash of Feb. I had a look this morning and the mortar seems to be really soft still...

the wall is only a block retaining wall which will eventually be covered so not bothered about staining. as long as all the mortar does not get washed out!

Hello, I was wondering if it was ok to continue laying blocks for my wall in light rainy conditions or if this would be dtrimental to the finished wall. Intermittent showers are forcast all weekend with us so if i could lay some blocks and then stop during the rainy spells and cover work...

Hello, I am going to be building a retaining wall this weekend on a sloped garden. The wall will be 215mm wide and 1000mm high. I am struggling to find what mortar mix would be correct for this application. I though 1:5 of cement to builders sand would suffice but some places on the internet...
