    Suppliers of gabion baskets?

Hi Can anyone recommend any good suppliers of cages/baskets. Decided to use these as our 1.8m x 4.8m retaining wall. Hard to order without seeing them as I don't want sag and bulges so I'd probably avoid eBay but don't want to pay a fortune. Thanks

Retaining wall ideas please? Rough cost?

Thanks for replies. So the wall would be under 6ft and because we live by the hills it is made up of chalk and clay, a thin layer of topsoil was added to allow grass I think. It all seems secure but I'll look into gabions. Needing to keep prices as low as possible so any engineers would be...

Retaining wall ideas please? Rough cost?

Hi, So we have a rubbish garden and were going to terrace in levels but decided to have one big area dug out so we got more space. Now the digger man has said this needs retaining and not to leave it long. I agree. My question is, how much would this cost to get done by someone and if I done...

BT wiring before master socket... It's snapped

Will jellies be more effective than a connector strip? I thought a connection was a connection? Twisted wires, crimps, chocblocs etc

Rough cost of a wall in garden please?

Hi Just looking at options for the garden. Looking like a few m long and needs to be as high as the hedge. I can dig the footings and throw some concrete in though not too sure how deep to go as it get really chalky after 15cm. Probably 3 Piers and most likely in brick matching with the...

    Gravel grids - any recommendations?

Hi Looking to put gravel grids down but there are so many that I'm a bit stuck for choice. Obviously some will be good and others, rubbish. We're looking to dig out the front lawn to maybe 12'', membrane, lay Type 1 and compact to 10-15cm then pop the grids on but I can only really find them...

Looking for ideas for new drive partition please! Pics

Yeah it's an option but its not been cut for a long time and it's not ours to cut. Agreed it would be more practical just to edging down but sleepers would also look nice, albeit more expensive. Thanks for the replies.

Looking for ideas for new drive partition please! Pics

Hi I'm currently digging up the grass area out the front to make way for a new drive. It'll most likely be dug down to 30cm, type 1 then compacted and then I'll pop gravel grids in. Now the hedge is the border with the neighbours. I looked into a double skinned wall with 3 Piers but it was...

Wet look for black tiles and grout? Sealant?

Hi Just had an expensive kitchen put over some tiling I done myself. The tiles are wickes black/grey porcelain but not polished and the grout was mapei black. Basically the tiles look shockingly washed out and the grout ranges from light grey to nearly black. It only looks decent when it's...

My electric towel element is cr*p!! Why?

Insane as in it gets very hot and worms very efficiently. Boiler says about 75 degrees in the CH for water. The element is 300w but after a couple of hours I bleed it to check how hot the water is and it's just luke warm. Towel rail is possibly about 1m? I know they're not meant to be as hot...
