full tile at verge? simple novice question

Apologies for the photos, these were what I took earlier. The right side fascia will be coming off as I'm not happy with it. Was unsure about the bottom lead soaker so folded it down over the fascia.

full tile at verge? simple novice question

Thanks for the reply. Went with a full tile and 3/4 of a tile to stagger the joints. Just struggling with the lead details now. Unsure how to finish the lowest soaker that sits on the fascia. And finishing the top leadwork at the verge end. Does this just fold over the side?

full tile at verge? simple novice question

Morning all, Hoping to tile a small lean to roof (4 rows) that buts upto the house. Should I have a full tile at the verge end or the side that abuts the house? Spacing current works out so there are no little slithers either way it's done. Using Marley ashmores if it makes any difference...

    retiling bay Window advice

Hello, unsure if this should be in roofing as it's technically roof tiles. I've stripped the tiles and laths from our bay Window with the goal of insulating the void and retiling. The void was insulated from the inside wth celotex some years ago but only between the studs and not taped or a...

Can anyone offer any further help with this?

    insulated screed?

It's more the "fear of", if I put the stud wall straight onto the concrete slab with some dpc between surely I'm compromising this when I screw through it? The slab has a DPM around it but a section of the concrete was removed from the bases of the supporting piers when we built the extension on...

    insulated screed?

Morning all, any help with the previous post questions would be appreciated, hoping to crack on with this today. Have seen another method of setting the stud wall on a single course of eng bricks or similar to provide some protection from damp. Do I need to leave an air gap between any new...

    insulated screed?

Morning all, hoping to crack on with this. Can someone confirm that a thin layer of sand on top of the DPM will be sufficient to level the floor before the PIR goes down? I have the stud wall to build also, this is going straight on the old concrete slab of the garage. Can I fix it to the slab...

    insulated screed?

That sounds a hell of a lot easier that having to prime the floor and then spend £100 on self levelling compound! Surely it's not as simple as it sounds?!

    insulated screed?

To be honest I hadn't priced up the screed in comparison to the floating floor. I totalled it to about £450 laying a floating floor with 75mm celotex, t&g chipboard and cement board in prep for tiling. I have about 15mm runout across the 3m one way, would I need to self level the concrete slab...

    insulated screed?

Thanks again for your reply, I'm annoyed as he's was recommended by the builders and has been in the game for a long time. In hindsight I should've just cracked on and maybe he wouldn't have noticed. Shall I just go with a floating floor? The sheer expense and hassle puts me off.

    insulated screed?

Agreed, I've specificed that the stud wall and the roof will be over insulated but he wasn't having any of it.

    insulated screed?

Thanks for the reply. I tried suggesting that and the BCO gave me a "no".

    insulated screed?

Hello all, I'm looking to raise the floor of the garage by 100mm to convert it into a 3 X 3m utility room. Have got the option of a floating floor setup but would rather not. Has anyone got any experience with insulated screed? There's a product called prooftherm...

    fitting shower tray onto Caberdek

Ok thanks will do, makes it a little bit more tricky as I've cut the chipboard quite tight. Would be interested to hear some more thoughts/ opinions with regards to the best method of fitting the tray onto the Caberdek. Currently my thoughts are hybrid polymer sealant. Thanks.

    fitting shower tray onto Caberdek

Thanks for the reply, Yeah that was my main concern and with all the conflicting advice I'm hesitant to fit it yet. Good idea, and good point about the glass. So a thin layer of hybrid polymer sealant all over would do the trick? I'd really rather not have to cut the panels, there are three...

    fitting shower tray onto Caberdek

Happy Easter all, Hoping to fit a stone resin shower tray into the new ensuite and am a bit stumped as to the best way to adhere it to the floor. Current construction is 22mm Caberdek (grey) laminated chipboard flooring on 400mm centre joists. Have seen a variety of different suggestions...

    correct position of roof vents.

Thanks again woody, The soffits and fascias were replaced along with the roof membrane etc and so are currently without and holes. I completely agree (and so does the missus apparently) that soffit vents look ugly when installed and will be a dust trap. I'm thinking that I install the two...

    correct position of roof vents.

Thanks woody, I don't fancy having two soffit vents on the back of the house but that seems like it's the only option of ducting into one isn't the best route. I've purchased two tile vents with duct adaptors but didn't fancy making holes in the recently tiled roof to put them in. And I'll...
