What's the difference between having a garage built compared to an extension? I'm wondering if there is something structurally different or difficult to change afterwards? I realise a room would have plasterboard, decoration, more electrics, dpc and insulated floor. Cheers, turnpike

Can anyone tell me if a stop tap should always be fitted as soon as the mains enters the house? Is it ok to have the stop tap where the mains first appears above the ground floor floorboards, even if it runs 2 or 3 metres under them first? Thanks.
