how to do a suspended concrete ceiling? (bunker build)

The whole thing is just as a fun man cave tool storage project, nothing to do with the impending zombie attack . I want to build a shed on top with a dwarf stone wall but want to know how to go about doing the suspended ceiling which will be the floor of the shed. Yes I've seen Colin furze. His...

What goes under my metal roof? OSB/membrane? Simple lean to shelter build

Closed but not heated. It will have a vented walkway. I'm just trying to cut down on the condensation which is inevitable when having a metal roof. As long as all the fixings go into through the osb and into the beams I would of thought plastic sheet is fine no?

how to do a suspended concrete ceiling? (bunker build)

I could put a french drain outside the blocks, hopefully that will relieve the weight of wet mud against the wall somewhat?...and loads of tanking slurry and bitchamen paint on outside. More tanking slurry on inside. Or would it be better to use 9inch hollows rebarred into the slab and filled...

how to do a suspended concrete ceiling? (bunker build)

Hi all, I want to at some point build a bunker in the garden under an outbuilding just because it would be pretty cool. I was going to dig down roughly 2.5-3metres pummel down hardcore into the mud then line it with a sheet or two. I would then build a tanking wall upto ground level using blocks...

    My old mixer...

Time to retire my old mixer haha. It ran wonky for the last few months so I gave up cleaning it. It wants to do cartwheels due to the weight. The metal between stand and mixer broke a few times and was re welded. Its been through its paces and been very good to me for the 50quid I paid for it...

How to remove wooden glazing bars from conservatory roof?

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping to reuse the panels and just replace the glazing bars. I could just replace the roof beams with new ones also. I'll have a look for screws and go from there

    Sloped ground foundations for garage

If you do put the mesh in raise it upto the middle of the slab using broken engineering bricks (so concrete can flow underneath and above it). Also remember to tie the reinforcing mesh to one another using wire.

    CLS Sideways

The studwork timber from wickes is normally pretty grotty or twisted/bowed. The merchants like jewsons and travis perkins seem to have a slightly thicker profile and less twists or bows in the wood. You can go in there and setup a trade cash account even if your not in the trade. It entitles you...

    Sloped ground foundations for garage

Maybe throw in some reinforcing mesh for good measure. Also remember to put in some membrane between the type1 and the slab. You could blind it with sand or just add thicker membrane

I forgot to mention I already have bought an oak door and the wood for the frame. I might swap the windows out in the future but was really trying to make it look acceptable for a couple of years whilst I decide. The current PVC door has a split skin and full of chips. Not to mention is hung...

Front door colour advice...wooden door and PVC windows dilemma

Hi all, I have a property with rosewood upvc windows and front door with side panel. The door has seen better days so I want to swap it out with a wooden one set into a wooden frame. The windows are fine though and their colour is rosewood (a kind of dark brown pvc wood effect). Ive been looking...
