Brand new toilet not flushing enough

Have flushed with a bucket. Unfortunately I have no idea how many litres the tank holds so I had to guess, but with bucket it flushed pretty well. Still a tiny bit of broken up floating paper, but all the solids removed and a clean pan.

Brand new toilet not flushing enough

Haven't had chance to try the bucket yet but am wondering, how can if be blocked if the water is going down fine? The level doesn't rise and it isn't slow to drain. It's more like the water just isn't pushing the waste sufficiently hard? Will try the bucket when I get a chance but thinking this...

Brand new toilet not flushing enough

I'll give it a try when I get home and report back. I hope the stack isn't blocked as it was installed new with the toilet.

Brand new toilet not flushing enough

It doesn't matter how we hold down the button unfortunately. Long hold gets more water but the paper just floats to the top, swirls around and stays in he bowl. Coming back later you then find yucky sludge in the bottom even after it seems to have flushed properly and only a second flush will...

Brand new toilet not flushing enough

Not so simple- after three months taken to do snagging, threats of legal action and finally money withheld. Would rather find the solution myself.

Brand new toilet not flushing enough

We've just had our loft converted, and a new bathroom installed. The soil pipe connects onto the one of the bathroom below. The new toilet does not want to flush solids, or even paper properly, even when holding down the button for ages. Even a second flush only gets about 80% of the paper...

New thermostatic shower not getting hot

As i stated in another post, we've just had a new bathroom in the loft installed. We've got plenty of hot water to the sink, and there seems to be enough pressure as the shower is running nicely, but the thermostatic shower will only get tepid even at the fullest setting. I'm guessing this...

    Toilet behaving strangely

We've just had our loft converted including a new bathroom, and ever since, the toilet in the old bathroom has behaving strangely. Maybe its just a coincidence, or perhaps its to do with the new install. I can't find any explanation for what its doing so I was hoping someone here could help...

Air trapped in bottom of radiators

We have a nearly new central heating system (installed 2 years ago), (Worcester Bosch combi boiler Greenstar jr , standard double convector radiators, plastic pipe throughout the house) and I'm having problems with some of the radiators heating up at the top but not at the bottom so I was...

    Connecting galvanised pipe without threading

Ok, simpler way of explaining it. I was making a light fitting out of galvanised steel conduit (because I'm an arty farty type who does that kind of thing). The conduit IS the light fitting, its not running TO a light fitting. There will be nothing in the conduit other than a flex running to a...

    Connecting galvanised pipe without threading

Still disagree i'm afraid. Don't think you've understood what is being done. We are simply replacing a ceiling rose. Everything else is a light fitting.

    Connecting galvanised pipe without threading

I've been pondering for the past 5 minutes why anyone would want to waste their time trying to force their unwanted opinions onto people who aren't interested in hearing them, but as yet I'm at a loss as to the answer. You might THINK you know everything, but as it turns out, yet again, you have...

    Connecting galvanised pipe without threading

Seriously? I wasn't asking you! Didn't your mother teach you what happened to the boy who stuck his nose in where it wasn't wanted?

    Connecting galvanised pipe without threading

Hey 333Rocky333, any ideas where I'd get something like this, or what it's called? It looks ideal for what I need and I can't find anything like it anywhere! Cheers

    Earthing galvanised junction box

Crazy I know, but its not all about the profit. I just like to look around at the end of a job and say 'I did that'. The only things I ever get anyone in for are where there is a legal requirement (or when I simply can't be bothered like scraping back the paint on the outside walls). This isn't...

    Earthing galvanised junction box

Spent the best part of a week taking all the doors apart, pulling out about a million panel pins holding the boards on, cutting back the spindles on the handles that had been lengthened, and stripping the paint - and on the stairs too which had also been horribly boxed in. Unfortunately they had...

    Earthing galvanised junction box

Its not my job! We both work full time (well, i'm still on maternity leave right now) and do this in our spare time. I think a year is pretty impressive when you're working 50 hours+ a week. I was plastering whilst 8 months pregnant. And whilst there might be cheaper houses available there...
