    Leak near Hot Water Cylinder

Hello, I have a minor leak in the cupboard where our hot water cylinder is located. We don't have a proper boiler, just an immersion heater. Before I start tampering with it, does anyone know what this part of the pipework is for? The leak is as pictured, above the transparent tray I...

    Asbestos in 1920-30s Bungalow

Further to this, I did read that asbestos was only commonly used in the 1950s onwards, where as our bungalow is from the 1920-30s. I don't know if this would be good news?

    Asbestos in 1920-30s Bungalow

Unfortunately, we didn't get a full survey due to time constraints. It appears that some previous owners bricked round the original structure with single bricks, so it looks just like a normal bungalow from outside. We just don't know if they remove the asbestos cement boards whilst doing so.

Potterton EP2002 - No Central Heating

Thanks for the reply. I don't think we have a pump, I think it's gravity based. Where would I find this valve? Is it something that's easy to replace?

Potterton EP2002 - No Central Heating

Hello, We have a Potterton EP2002 programmer linked to a Baxi PFL boiler. We are usually able to switch on heating or hot water independently of each other with no problem. However, when the hot water is on (on it's own) sometimes some of the upstairs radiators will go on. Yesterday, we...

Reinserting Spring on a Yale Lock

Hello, The short piece is about 7mm. When I've tried to fix it, I've been putting the spring coil on the peg first. Should I be doing this the other way round then? Which way round should the spring go onto the peg?
