Anyone know what is causing this discolour on my pipe joints? The elbow is worse than the straight. Its a recently soldered section of pipe. Have i used too much flux that is burnt off or perhaps too much heat? thanks

    Recommend a good metal shed

Yes that would be brilliant. The main problem would be getting the crane to drop the container off as there is only enough space for a car up the driveway. Would it be possible for a large crane to move a container about 25m away from where the crane would be positioned? For example from a main...

    Recommend a good metal shed

Thanks for all the pics showing your project. It's a nice shed and you have spent a lot of time, effort and money on it. I think mine is going to be much simpler as i dont have all the tools required. In fact it could be a wooden box with a roof  . I just need somewhere for storage...

    Plasterboarding the bathroom

Ok thanks for the tips. I think i will probably have to board or replaster most of the walls after removing the tiles. But its for the best as the old plaster is crumbling away.

    Recommend a good metal shed

Yes i suppose the wood ones are better. I was also wondering if perhaps the metal ones make any noise when the wind is blowing. Anyone know roughly how much it would cost to have a wood shed built to the above dimensions? I am considering building it myself too but i am undecided at the...

    Plasterboarding the bathroom

Thanks for responding. i'm just wondering if i were to remove all the tiles it will mean the wall is almost going back to brick because the plaster behind will fall off aswell. Would it be better if i dryline the walls after removing the tiles? Also how would i tank any damp areas? thanks

    New downstairs bathroom installation

Yes the above is the solution we were originally looking at. But the proposed area has a pitched roof and the old wc has a flat one. The old wc is only a single skin outbuilding with no insulation probably used as a coal shed in the past. So it would take more work to bring it up to current...

    New downstairs bathroom installation

If anyone can offer any advice for this. See pic attached below The pic above shows the layout of the property. At the moment in the area marked 'proposed bathroom' there is nothing except for a washing machine. In the past there was a sink which has been removed. Outside the window...

    Changing an old toilet

Have i got the right one here to connect a new pan? The one in the middle. If i were to saw the end off the old soil pipe, would this one then attach on to it? Oh and would i need any putty or something to make the joint more secure against leaks? Just checking at the moment i havent...
