Are my washing machine isolator valves off? (Pics inside)

Ive just taken off my washing machine from the cold and hot supply. I tried turning the isolator valves clockwise (from being parallel to the ground) but they did not budge. Instead I was able to turn them counter clockwise and they are now perpendicular to the floor but that was achieved by...

Hole in the wall fireplace is this Plasterboard ok? (Pics)

OK cool thanks for the heads up. Whatever the plan I will need to make a hole in the current plasterboard. I guess I will do that first and depending on what I find (or don't find) behind the plasterboard will dictate what to do next. Will update once the hole is in place :)

Hole in the wall fireplace is this Plasterboard ok? (Pics)

None that I know of apart from the skirting. The boards are plasterboards. I could be wrong and there may be some timber that I am missing? Have not been here for long!

Hole in the wall fireplace is this Plasterboard ok? (Pics)

The instructions do not cover what to do when recessing the fireplace. However the company that sells the fireplace mention the following on their website: I am thinking to build up a wall at the back the chimney where I can bolt the fireplace onto. Which will mean the fireplace has been...

Are these walls ready to paint / paper? (Pictures inside)

Thanks for the replies guy. So you would say I should even line the walls where I am putting paper up? Isn't that putting paper on paper? Also what would be best to use to fill and feather any uneven surfaces + the hole I have. Are any of the two I linked to any good? Ronseal Multi...

Are these walls ready to paint / paper? (Pictures inside)

Hi guys I am looking to paint one side of my room and paper the other side. The below two walls will be painted. I am planning on first putting up lining paper and then paint so I wont be painting directly onto them: Will this work or do the walls need a re-plaster? The next...
