Where to find this uPVC coupler trim?

Thanks for the fast reply. I should add that the window and door are from two separate manufacturers. The windows cold be Rehau profile as you mention. However the door was supplied from Rock Door. I'm not sure what coupler the fitters used unfortunately.

Where to find this uPVC coupler trim?

Hope I've got the right terminology here. I believe the piece of vertical trim is covers the "coupler" between the window units and the door frame? Does anyone know the name of this profile and where I could possibly get some? Thanks in advance.

Inset hinges for under stairs cupboard?

First time building a cupboard and wondering if inset hinges would work for this design? Would inset hinges give the door enough "throw" so that it would open given the position of the newel post? I'm thinking of creating the door out of plywood. Not sure on the thickness yet. The opening is...

Tile bathroom walls or fit lvt floor first?

Which should I do first for my bathroom refit? 1) Fit wall to wall LVT (with holes for pipes / wastes etc) first and then tile down onto the floor? 2) Tile down onto the floor, and then lay in the LVT wall to wall up to the tiles? Is it even a good idea to do wall to wall LVT and sit the bath...

I want to try and fit a bath similar to this one: The clearance left / right is pretty tight at 120mm each side and I intend to fully tile the room. I contacted the manufacturer and they say: "We recommend installing the bath first and then tiling down onto the rim. A bead of silicone can...

Solar install with two consumer units

I assume it is best to run them safely. Not sure what happens to someone who bridges a 500v DC battery. I guess it depends on the current which could be high given the cables linked above are 6mm2? What sort of protection do solar systems have if someone was to introduce themselves to the circuit?

Solar install with two consumer units

Not saying you're wrong but surely, for example, 12v alarm sensor cables are not subject to this requirement. Hope not!

Solar install with two consumer units

I would also be interested to know why T&E would not be suitable. However, I think now due to project constraints it may be worth me running appropriate cable in place now rather than destroying walls to run it in the future. With that in mind, if string voltage can be 500V+ (DC?), are these...

Solar install with two consumer units

Thanks. I have an electric shower twin & earth cable running through the loft for an 8kw shower. It runs near to the proposed solar panel location. I would guess this is 6mm cable which runs from the loft, down a stud wall and through some ceiling joists to the consumer unit. The electric...

Curving MDF skirting board around bay windows

I've seen a few questions posted about curving skirting board around bay windows, so I thought I would post my solution in case anyone is trying to do the same. This worked for me using MDF skirting board. Attempt 1 I created a "jig" on the floor of the room and over the course of a week, I...

1930's house black "tar" under parquet flooring

Actually I'm not sure if it is staves or blocks - what's the difference? It is laid herringbone and there are groves to connect each block / stave together.

1930's house black "tar" under parquet flooring

This is an interesting point. A lot of my staves are loose, some have already been removed (and stored) as part of other work we have needed to do. They came up very easily so I would guess the bitumen bonding has failed.

@JobAndKnock thanks for that detailed historical explanation. I'm sure this thread will be useful for others who are looking into this issue in the future.
