    thanks again for coming back to me. i had a mess on sunday (got burnt to a crisp in the sun) tried laying some bricks on top with a bit more than usual compo and it's not done owt. still looks cr4ppy. need to re-do completely. not a job for me tho' - will get someone in to do it later...

    thank you for responding. what do you mean by tile crease? i know about the brick copings, need to buy those after. also, what do you recommend for getting the levelling to tie into the top of the wall. i have taken a few pics with camera, see below...

    the wall is only the thickness of a brick, so 4 inches. plus i've brought the standard concrete bag from wickes. (see below). http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/220189 wish i'd have come on here now before buying stuff.

    cheers for replying mate. thinking about it, i don't think there is any insulation above it, and it only affects the ceiling to the external wall, so probably is a cold spot. will get some insulation over the week and place some around. plus will get it all treated and re-painted...

    cheers for reply dude. found a bit of an easier way at the mo - using a stanley knife and running it down both sides, then using a flat headed screw-driver to prize it away, seems to work better that how i was doing it before. any idea's on how to clean the tile grout? was told by someone...

    I need to take down 4 brass spotlights in the kitchen which has a flat roof over the top, I cant get to the top of lights to push the springy legs inwards to push down into the kitchen so i need to do it from inside the kitchen! Any ideas? Without making a mess of ceiling!!!
