Its material that's making the prices over inflated... we had quotes around 60 - 70k when we first got planning consent, its now around 100k :( 2 years later.. If you have the value in your house when complete then go for it even more so if its going to be your house for life!

The flooring may already be ok for Kitchen use? The only time I have done more than needed is in the bathroom where I put a bead of pva on the joints as an extra barrier.

not possible as all bathrooms are going to be in the middle of the house ☹️ But this maximises space for bedrooms.

We are in the throws of getting an extension done and need to work out additional extras I want to put in place... we will end up with 3 bathrooms with no windows... so what is the best way to get rid of condensation and I assume it is better to keep the rooms warm what would be the optimum...

We have at the front of our house the gutter down pipe which services both semi detached houses. When we had our drive done a month or so ago the guys had to put an extension piece on the drain to raise it up, what we also found was there was that much moss etc coming of the roofs that the drain...

i would be buying them a cheap tape measure as a parting gift! You need to make sure they don’t cut corners ie less sub base.

so they miss measured? By how much? Mine is only 50m2 not a massive area.

hubby of the mrs work colleague is on furlough and does this type of work on new builds finishing off drives, footpaths etc so he’s doing the Labour, I work for a company that supplies utility companies so have called in a couple of favours material wise. It’s not going to save me a massive...

Oddly we have gone to the same place and got the Country Cobble Cashel with their Slate Cobble border. Our original choice was the A&G Sorrento in Brunello but they are not in production at the moment :( but the Cashel is a decent match and the Mrs is happy.

It would be a mat finish we will use not the glossy finish. We have some sample blocks and they look dull, when its got water on they look a lot nicer :) hence me thinking the sealer would give it the wet look all the time.

That is the question... I'm about to have a new drive laid in concrete Tegula type blocks, is it wise to seal once done or not?

I supply a company that does the connections for our local water company so will ask them to supply me with the necessary bits I will need :)

Picture attached... I was also thinking of the mains water pipe while it being dug up but I won't be needing to get it connected for some time yet... I wouldn't know what to do with the bit sticking out the end of my drive? I could however put the pipe sleeve/conduit? in so it can be pulled...

Assuming bigger the better? I see Vallaint do a 300lt Unvented would that suffice. @iateyoubutler what make did you go for?
