Just an idea, proberly to late a rather silly but...
If your having the doors made for you then perhaps they could be adjust to suit whilst being made.
Get a sheet of hardboard and cut it to fit the door frame exactly. Get a large sheet of stiff paper. Lay the hardboard on it and cut around...
At long last have finished tiling around the bath with tiles that we actually like when put up.
On Friday I will do the grouting. From what I understand you are meant to run a bead of silicon around the bath once the job as been completed. Trying to get a TIDY bead of silicon and one the...
Plenty of water and not forcing the tiles, going so slowly was nearly overtaken by a snail
Perhaps should add that the tiles I’m trying to cut at the moment are 10mm thick ceramic.
Was wondering about the blade but at the end of the day 1000’s of the plasplug blades are sold...
Ok gave in and brought a Plasplug 110mm diamond wheel tile cutter.

Cuts quite nicely, only a small amount of chipping on the cut edges.
But when I get to about 15/10mm, as visible from the top of the tile it snaps and takes the corner...
Most seem to run at about 3,000 rpm which seems to only be a little slower that typical Circular Saw and this one
http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?id=56408&ts=06120#
runs at 6,000 which is faster than most Circular Saw
Wouldn't suggest running a dry table wet cause your right ...
1) Small table sawa have smaller blades than bigger table saws
2)Don't have to add water when not cutting tiles
3)Would change blade according to the usage
4)not sure
5) for small bits that you small table would be fine. My black & decker table is small but done lots on it.
Will have a...
Not sure if this is best here or in the tile section ??
Got a few porcelain tile to cut which I can’t do by hand so looks like I’m going to have to get a wet tile cutter. Since it’s only a few tiles and is unlikely to be used again or at least for many years am a bit reluctant to get one so...
Thanks for the reply.
Did try different types of edging strip but didn't like the look. Made it look very boxed in and just didn't seem to suit.
Had removing the tiles not destroyed the plaster board would have put the new tiles on normally and used some painted angled wood egding to try to...
Situation is this. Bath stands against plaster board that is dab and dotted onto brick walls. We recently tiled just around the bath to a height of about 2 feet. Even though we took a long long time choosing the tiles when they we up we hated them. One on the things we disliked was seeing the...
If your going to use the wire wool then make sure your not using a water base primer/top coat. From what I have read small particals of the wire wall are likely to remain and the water based products can rust causing discolouration etc.
"It is to block up french doors"
Is this an internal or external wall ?
As a devout bodger what springs to my mind is thus.
The width of french door is quite a bit and if the stud wall is not fixed at the bottom it would tend flex rather a lot. So wrap the bottom member of the stud with...
Replaced my floorboards with new pine boards which I osmo oiled about a year ago and no sign of cupping yet. Early days perhaps.
But what would worry me, being a bit of a worryer and not having that much knowledge in this area, is the idea of sitting the new boards on top of the old ones. I...
for fitting such things as the soap dish holder and shower head attachment (only used for washing hair and rinsing bath) i.e. things that may need to be screwed to the wall.
nah they are 10cmx10cm tiles
Adhesive showing shouldn't be a problem as I will be using these tiles

which have a metallic effect backing.
What not to confident about with them though is cutting and drilling. Any tips on that would be appriciated :)
Thanks for the replies will do it without a batten and leave small gap between bath and tile for the silicon.
Although don't think the bath should move. Its made with Carronite which they claim "has a strength and rigidity normally associated with a cast iron or heavy gauge steel bath". Also...
