Mini Digger Hire - do you need a licence?

Does anyone know if you need a licence to use a mini digger, if you hire one?

New laser level, looking for advice

Wow! It sounds like it does a LOT of jobs for one machine! Prices for the Rugby 280's on the internet seem to vary depending on which receiver, batteries and other accessories you want with it. I've seen some companies who "appear" to be a lot cheaper but when you read in to the description...

New laser level, looking for advice

Yes, it does seem quite expensive but packed full of features. Would you mind sharing how much you paid for the Rugby 280 and what you got in the kit for the price? i.e. rechargeable batteries, receiver, remote etc

    laser measure

I've never used a DLE model before but it seems to have a good write up around the web. I came across a budget one (the Proline FL-60) the other night but I couldn't decide if this has Leica internal workings or not (like the Bosch range does). It seems like good value but only a 60m range. I...

New laser level, looking for advice

I thought I was getting closer to a decision but now I'm looking at PLS lasers and the Rugby has certainly come back in to contention. Seems I have much reading to do and plenty of calls to make... :D

New laser level, looking for advice

It's a red beam laser. I see what you mean about the image but I think it must just be the light coming through or something. According to Topcon it's a red beam!

New laser level, looking for advice

John, thanks again for the help on this. Your opinion is very welcome! Is this the CST LMHC laser level that you have? or is yours an older model? This seems very good for the price and unlike the others it comes with a tripod and staff. I don't really need these, as my old ones are still...

    laser measure

I see what you're saying but if you have a lot to measure and no one to hold the end of a tape measure then it WOULD actually save time... and I don't know about the rest of your guys and girls on here but my time is precious and if I can cut out 2 hours of "measuring time" by using a laser...

New laser level, looking for advice

Hi John, Thanks for the reply on this, you sound like you know more than I do! I don't really do any grade or slope work so I don't need that as a feature although if something is of a good price and has it then I won't turn it down. I'm working in areas of around 100m diameter (max) so...

New laser level, looking for advice

Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a new rotary laser level in the next week or so as my DeWalt is on it's last legs. It's been a good machine but the newer ones look a little flimsy in comparison (the one I have is 7 years old). I want something more "professional" than the DeWalt and I...

    laser measure

Hi, £80 budget... that's pretty low. I've had many makes and models of laser measures over the years and you're using it for professional use i'd say go for a Leica DISTO any day of the week. If you're looking for something basic then the Leica DISTO D2 will do the job. I have a Leica DISTO D3a...
