    Ceiling Light Wiring Block Safe?

Thanks very much for this. I will have to get my head around it. It seems that it is the second option but that the junction box is right next to the light rather than somewhere else in the diagram, which makes sense as the diagram is just for clarity. Apologies, i am not an electrical natural.

    Ceiling Light Wiring Block Safe?

Ok when you put it like that i guess it was a little stupid. So the wires from the loose box go into the 4th "hole" but do they all go in one side and if so why are they there if they are only ever going to go into a box and do nothing?

    Ceiling Light Wiring Block Safe?

So i tried to mount it up but unfortunately the wiring block is right in the way of where the light fixture bit is. Does anyone know if it is safe to make a new drill holes about 2-3cm to the right of the existing holes? I don't want to hit any wires when drilling but assume these are going...

    Ceiling Light Wiring Block Safe?

Oh really, that sounds very useful but I am not entirely sure what is under that tape and how to connect it up to a 4 way box, which incidentally is what came with the light fitting (4 way box i mean).

    Ceiling Light Wiring Block Safe?

Thanks guys, I did make sure it was off at the fuse box but well worth mentioning!

    Ceiling Light Wiring Block Safe?

Thanks very much for this, I feel more assured that it was done properly in that case rather than a botch job by the last owner's. Will take the tape off and tighten the screws but no the wires stay housed in the actual housing of the light fitting. Thanks again, think you might have saved me...

    Ceiling Light Wiring Block Safe?

Hello I am changing a ceiling light to a similar non-rose light and found the following wiring. My question is, is this safe enough for me to just wire up the new one or is that taped up block a little iffy? Thanks so much for your time I just need some peace of mind! Regards

Can I split this tap to feed Washing machine and Dishwasher?

Thanks both. I turned it off and then ran the taps, nothing came out. So then i disconnected the washing machine and voila nothing came out of that tap too so it must have been that tap. Brilliant stuff.

Can I split this tap to feed Washing machine and Dishwasher?

Stupid question i know but where would I turn off the water in a typical victorian terrace? There is a tap to the right of the picture above but I assume that isn't it right?

Can I split this tap to feed Washing machine and Dishwasher?

Thanks dly noted although the simplicity of the solution offered by doggit is appealing. Is there any way in which i can do that option but support the pipe still? The white pipe is just the waste pipe from the washing machine, it is very movable.

Socket behind dishwasher pt.2 - are we being had?

Thanks everyone, i have a lot of going back through this post to make sure ample likes are dished out! I think in the end I was perhaps being a cheapskate and the RCBO option is the best. I agree that having an RCD behind the DW cold be a real pain in the proverbial so maybe it isn't worth...

Can I split this tap to feed Washing machine and Dishwasher?

Makes it look simple but my skills can make it a more difficult proposition.

Socket behind dishwasher pt.2 - are we being had?

So there appears to be another divergence of opinion between ban all shed and flameport amongst others. On the one side you think the option of moving the kitchen sockets to the RCD would be a more cost effective option but Flameport you think his first option is best and not worth quibbling...

Socket behind dishwasher pt.2 - are we being had?

So yo think they connected the DW directly to the wires? This was what I thought they'd done.

Socket behind dishwasher pt.2 - are we being had?

Sorry i don't understand the implication, is it a dangerous or improper setup according to the rules?

Can I split this tap to feed Washing machine and Dishwasher?

Thanks that is excellent. I think there is enough room if i cut just a bit more space but i guess we'll see. The main thing i wanted to know if it was possible and it looks like it is so thanks.

Can I split this tap to feed Washing machine and Dishwasher?

Hello, was wondering if it is possible to use an adapter to use this one tap to feed both a dishwasher and a washing machine? Thanks a lot.
