Vaillant ecoTec plus 430 F83 Error Code

Wouldn't lack of water flow point to air rather than pumps or bypass? I suppose the pump not turning on might cause it.

Vaillant ecoTec plus 430 F83 Error Code

Just looked up your boiler and it says it is 'Open Vent' ie a tank in the loft. Still lack of water is the primary fault for F83. After that it's the sensors measuring flow and return temperatures

Pump Hum and poor Power Flush

The ABV runs from just below the flow side of the pump and joins back again at a tee for the CH return. It then flows through the tee for the DHW return and finally through the TF1 filter. But hardly anything is being trapped in the filter, just a fine dust. I'm glad to hear that I might be...

Pump Hum and poor Power Flush

I think I probably have 2 or 3 mm of stuff on the pipe wall but the performance of all radiators is now excellent. If I stick a pipe brush through the bit I don't cut out will the dust left cause more problems?

Pity you're not closer to SW London. But would you brush out the visible pipes or allow the chemicals to do it?

Pump Hum and poor Power Flush

So, if you can do it without magnets, how do you catch those bits coming out the boiler. I'm assuming the best place to connect is the pump valves and what I don't want is to push stuff into the other side of the boiler. Also, I've found a piece of pipe beyond the CH Valve that a magnet can...

Pump Hum and poor Power Flush

Pump today seems very quiet but I must be due more debris working through. As I've had a poor power flush perhaps I should do my own next time. The one I had at the end of November was clearly connected to the wrong place and I saw no evidence of magnets in the unit. Just a big pump and a...

Pump Hum and poor Power Flush

Answered my own question (Photo below) The older pump I fitted back is now also showing debris. So now back with the new (and cleaned) UPS2 and mostly silent. It's on speed 1 constant with plenty of air bubbles working their way through. But the boiler has a bit of a whine I've not heard...

Pump Hum and poor Power Flush

So, getting back to the hum. What causes it? The system is clear of air and the boiler is firing properly without any 'kettle' noises. All the radiators get warm together so are well balanced. The two radiators in the lounge and dining room are at the end of their runs and fully open on their...

So perhaps the Power Flush did do some good?

Noise from a Vaillant combi boiler (ecoTEC plus 835)

Which would have worked fine except you took the Room Stat out of the hall and put it in the living room. So the hall radiator is working overtime because the Room Stat is in a room where the TRV has turned off.

Noise from a Vaillant combi boiler (ecoTEC plus 835)

Most people leave the Room Stat in the hall and that radiator is the one without a TRV. The hall will be responsible for turning the boiler on and off. All the others will have their temperature controlled by TRVs

Pump Hum and poor Power Flush

The shape of the bits is difficult to understand. If you look at the pump picture at about 2 O'clock you can see the bits have a rounded profile. The shape is quite small and no relation to 22mm pipes. Have they come out of the boiler? Plus they are magnetic and crumble if you really compress them.

Noise from a Vaillant combi boiler (ecoTEC plus 835)

The Room Stat should be in one room and that same room should not have a TRV. You need it this way so that the room stat can sense the rise in temperature and turn the boiler off. If you put the room stat in a room with a TRV the TRV will turn that radiator off and the room stat will still be...

Pump Hum and poor Power Flush

Earlier in the year I posted the end of a seven year saga to improve the heat in a vertical radiator. It turned out that it had been installed upside down with the diverter sitting in the top rail rather than the bottom beside the input flow. Once turned over it was lovely and warm. But a...

    Vertical Radiator Flow

The noise stops when the lockshield is closed. I did a test with it and the TRV closed when I was changing the bleed valve. I thought it might encourage a little more air out of the system. I have a meter with temperature probes for the balancing. Might also revisit the bypass valve...

    Vertical Radiator Flow

Agile; you might be onto something with flow speed. I've put the lockshield back to where it was originally. But now I have a radiator with a different flow pattern since I turned it over. Also the other radiators had TRVs meaning they were probably off. I'll do the temperature drop next.
