    13 A 1-Gang to 2-Gang Moulded Converter Switched Socket

Hi, I'm still waiting for the purchase of my bungalow to go through, but when it does I want to replace some of the single sockets with double ones, all the internal walls are solid, so if I wanted 'Proper Double Sockets' I'd have to make the hole bigger etc, not too bad a job but probably takes...

    Cleaning System

Thanks. We've been to the bungalow today and the CH was on and worker well, so that's good news. So, back to my question, if I gate some plastic tube from ebay or a pet store of 12mm outside diameter, that should go into the hole where I remove the chrome cap? I have been looking at the...

    Cleaning System

Thanks everyone for the replies. Maybe I should have explained more, I'm in the process of buying a 1960's bungalow, looking at the Boiler (Baxi Combi 100), I would guess that it's @ 10 years old, one of the radiators in particular is very rusty, currently there is no pressure in the system but...

    Cleaning System

Hi, I found a few entries about cleaning CH system, but I have a combi boiler and no tanks, so I've bought some fernox and intend putting it in the radiators, I thought I would remove either the bleed nut or the one the other end and poor the fernox in a funnel with a tube into the radiator, my...

    Woodchip effect Textured Roller?

    Woodchip effect Textured Roller?

Hi, We're buying a bungalow that has woodchip throughout, all the internals walls are solid, we're having a cooker switch put in and as we want the cable buried, they will need to chase out a hole in the wall to put conduit and cable, once that's dome I was thinking about just plastering over...

    Deep Double ended Panel Bath?

Thanks for the link, unfortunately you can't choose what depth you want, you need to look at the specifications of any that look interesting. What makes you say that 12mm isn't enough? It's a small bathroom, 2.5 m long by 1.5m wide, we had 12 MM. in a previous property and that was fine, also...

    Deep Double ended Panel Bath?

Hi, We're looking for a deep double ended bath, we were looking at some free standing ones, we found one that's 460mm Internal, but as this is going in a bungalow on a wooden floor (we will tile the floor after putting down 12 mm ply, but water always finds a way!), we are thinking a Panel bath...

    Moving Electric cooker

↑ the existing cooker switch is that same size as a double socket, so it makes sense to put a double socket in place of the cooker switch, Click to expand... Why does it? It makes sense to put in a double socket as there aren't really enough currently. Regarding the cables to the 'Consumer...

    Replace Radiator

Thanks Alan, I'm trying to find out what size radiator I need, as I say, the room currently has 2 radiators and I want to replace 1 of them with a shorter one, 1.6m is a bit long, depending on which of the BTU Claculators I use I get 2 fairly different answers. So what one do I go by? I guess...

    Replace Radiator

Hi, I'm in the process of buying a bungalow (1960's age), the living room measures 20' (6.1m) long x 12' (3.66m) wide, it currently has 2 radiators in it, both are 600H x 1.6m Wide double, unfortunately I didn't look to see if they are type 21 or type 22. Macerator Toilet

Very true! Just going back to the response that Hugh put in A new connection can go through the outside wall, not absolutely necessary to dig the floor up internally. That makes sense, I guess the close to the sewage pipe the better.
