It sounds like your door contact isn't working. It should bypass the programmed exit time if the door is programmed as final. The system won't set if the exit time is 00 if the system doesn't see the final zones close. Can you want test the front door contact to confirm its working?

What alarm system do you have, i doubt the engineer code is "locked". Do the system not allow you to just default the code??

You may find that the system will require an engineer reset once you tamper the lid to replace the battery. You maybe left with an settable system if your code doesn't reset it

Honeywell do have a good reputation. I assumed this range of alarm was the "Response Alarm" rebranded as they are now owned by honeywell. The respones alarm was a pile of junk, i fitted one for a friend and it got binned in the end. Speak with tech support

Alternatively fit a new 2.1Ah battery in the control panel, that way if you have a power cut the system will run on battery back, your better off having a working intruder system in this day and age

The tamper circuit isn't critical, but its standard practice to wire it in. Its just monitors if sensor lids are removed or cables are damaged etc

You could fit the GSM dialler in a seperate enclosure adjacent to or below it. I take it your panel in the entry route as the button are on boards, you may not want the seperate enclosure if that the case. These panels are not end of line. Is there a reason why the installer didn't bother...
