I'm constructing a wooden stud wall in my basement. Should I use a strip of damp proof membrane under the sole plate between the screed and the wood? The reason I ask is that when I blocked up a doorway I was told to set the first layer of bricks on a membrane? Their is no damp...

Total run is less than 3m (about 2.2m vertical and .5 horizontal) ... so I will use 22 all the way to the external drain 40mm. I've found the 'easy plumb' drain kits (like for washing machines etc) come with lots of adaptors etc .. But, yeah, trying to find 22mm-> 32/40mm adaptor is not...

Thanks bengasman Ah yes, found this in the manual ... I'm surprised 22mm pipe is wide enough .... but gues Saniflo know what they are doing! Saniflo manual very breif ... just a diagram showing the 22mm verticals feeding into 32 or 40mm horizontals :?

I'm installing a Saniflo Sanislim macerator - I'm suprised the main waste outlet is only 22mm diameter .. Looking at the installation guide its a bit ambigous if I should route this into a 32mm (or 40mm) pipe once it goes 'horizontal' at the top of the vertical ... Is this the case ...

Can I use a bag of ready mix mortar ... or should I use a greater mix of sand to bed the tray onto a ply base?

Been looking for a 1200x900 stone resin shower tray online. The price seems to vary from £90 - £350. Does the quality of them justify paying extra? ie. more stone/more solid on the expensive ones (say JT40's?)

Whats the best method to bring pipework out through a stud wall? (For sink taps and toilet) Can I use these connected to well secured pipework protruding through the studwork...

I have the same dilema for my basement shower room ... Do most plumbers still use copper? Is the only advantage of plastic speed of cutting and not subject to freezing temp splitting?

Is their any reason why I cant seat a tray directly onto blocks with say some gripfill?

Thanks muggles .. Just noticed Miras dont do a flight slim in 1200x900 I require. I need to raise the tray by about 120mm for a macerator gradient, and mount it on a concrete floor. Could I use say a Just Tray (http://www.jt40.info/jt40.html) and sit it on top of breeze blocks?

Has anyone used Miras Flight shower trays? They seem to 'fit the bill' with option riser kits to fit on my concrete floor. Any other recommendations welcome - after a sturdy stone resin tray. Are risers better than say sitting it on blocks?
