    Honda Izy running rough

Hi John, at the moment I'm a tad despondent after giving it what I thought was a good clean. The gardener needs to mow the grass at the mother-in-laws in the week so will probably leave it till next weekend. Hopefully I'll have a bit more enthusiasm then. I'll attach some pics then. I have...

    Honda Izy running rough

My Izy has a choke position on the throttle control. It's a 2007 model. Yes, fuel tap is fully on but it is very stiff. I got fuel to run out the tube which goes on the carb before reattaching it. Been using an aerosol can of carb cleaner but don't have access to an air line. Have to make do...

So would that lack of air in the mixture cause the engine to hunt? Richard

    Honda Izy running rough

What does the ET actually do. There is a hole straight through its centre from the main jet so the fuel can get up through but what do the cross holes do. Richard

    Honda Izy running rough

Yes, the main jet unscrewed fairly easily. As I said I did apply some pressure to the top of the tube but did want to go mad. Also the screwdriver blade gets close to the throttle flap so didn't want to bend it. Richard

    Honda Izy running rough

I'm pretty confidence apart from the emulsifier tube, everything was clean and clear with carb cleaner passing through and the main jet and idle jet clear with a small wire able to pass through. Even the emulsifier tube I was able to pass a wire up through. Not sure what else I could do. When...

    Honda Izy running rough

I've just tried to service my elderly mother-in-laws Izy (she has a gardener to cut the lawns) which was in a bad state rust wise. There was a hole in the usual place on the deck which I was able to shape some ally sheet over and pop rivet on. Whilst I had it I decided that i should give it a...

How accurate and reliable are smart thermostatic valves

Nice to know that the valves are pretty reliable. If using a room stat in conjunction to a smart TRV does the stat turn on the heat just for the room or the whole house? Richard

How accurate and reliable are smart thermostatic valves

Have been looking at the smart systems from Honeywell and Drayton but have been wondering how accurate the temperature control is. Also how reliable are they. Anyone with experience of these valves who can offer advice please? Richard

    I think I have a CH airlock!!

Hi Alan, no I only opened the flow side on each rad. That might be my error!! Going to start over again tomorrow and open one side first and let it run. Close it off and then open the other side and let it run. Then go onto the next rad until all the non-working rads have been bled. Hopefully...

    I think I have a CH airlock!!

Hi Guys, Belatedly I've only just got round to trying to clear what could be an air lock on our 2nd floor causing three out of the four rads not to work. Connected up as we discussed and got running water out of all of the three rads which weren't getting hot. One had significant amounts of...

    What granite hearth adhesive?

Thanks for that. I thought it was important to get a full bed to prevent cracking. I don’t want a thick bed as the additional height will show the concrete sub-base when the carpet is laid. Is SBR the same as plastiser? Can’t see anyone sellling less than 5L for £20. Richard

    What granite hearth adhesive?

I’ve laid a new concrete base ready to lay a granite hearth but what adhesive should I use? The open fire will be used on occasions and then only for a few hours like at Christmas. So do I need to use a specialist product from the likes of Vitcas or can I use a normal cement based floor tile...

    Programming Drayton Digistat

Just replaced my old controller and the new one seems to have different algorithms in the software than the old one. It switches heat off before the temp gets to the pre-set one and also switches on before the temp falls to the pre-set. I assume this is in an attempt to stop overshoot and keep a...

What mortar mix for a fireplace

Replacing our fireplace with a Victorian cast iron type. The front hearth will be a granite slab but not under the fire grate. This will be cemented, but what mortar mix should I be using? Richard
