    Screwdriver bits

I am used to this sort of thing with working on Japanese motorbikes! they use JIS screws on those (Japanese Industrial Standard) everyone thinks they are either phillips or pozidriv but they are different and require a different set of screwdrivers at a stupid price! well worth buying though

    Screwdriver bits

this is true but cheap bits tend to just chew themselves up just for fun! and not always fit properly in the screw heads

    Electric hoist mounting

I think that will be the way to go to be honest! I won't be lifting engines or anything over cars so no risk of damage to those..... My motorbike is my pride and joy though so I don't want to risk that going over!

    Electric hoist mounting

I am looking at buying one of these to use in my garage to lift loads of up to 250kg https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/020114400/ I am looking for ideas of how best to mount this as high as possible! The roof in the garage is flat with joists across the span (9ft) the joists are 5x2inch...

4 wire thermostat to 3 wire!

Yes I have come to realise that! I thought I had a stray wire causing power to be back fed but after googling I have come to realise its something to do with the 3 port valve having a low power in the midway position! I will probably just have to live with it

4 wire thermostat to 3 wire!

May well have found the issue I had a stray strand of live wire very very close to terminal 1 on the programmer which is the DHW off! I wonder if this was feeding down to the cylinder stat and mid position valve and then back to the stat as I now can't reproduce the dim LED

4 wire thermostat to 3 wire!

Yes the light on the room stat Although its not on all the time and it is very dim when it is on! It does look and sound like a bit of volt leakage it is an odd one as its not all the time when the hot water is off either! unless its a bad connection somewhere which I will check all...

4 wire thermostat to 3 wire!

Yeah I spotted it and just been up and double checked! I have heating and hot water again and the stat works but for some reason the LED is illuminated occasionally.........all the time if the hot water is off on the programmer!

4 wire thermostat to 3 wire!

I can indeed but be warned its a bit of a mess if you ask me! I did draw a diagram with paint to make it easier I have attached it to this post I have included a wiring diagram from the boiler too (ideal logic heat 15)

4 wire thermostat to 3 wire!

Well I'm getting somewhere! The live and switched live are the wrong way round! The wife never helped the situation by turning the heating off on the programmer! Swapping red and yellow on the new stat makes the heating work as it should off the stat New problem! With the hot water off on...

4 wire thermostat to 3 wire!

Yes it was all working fine but the stat has pretty much had it its either on or off! The cylinder stat is the same! Our hot water gets red hot and no amount of adjusting makes any difference!
