Noisy 1st floor Flooring (not creaking)

Ok so there is a chance they are separating. Should I remove the screws, pilot then refit in the same place or would the flooring be damaged so I need to rescrew in a new location.?

I had this before and I just cut the piece off as it was easier than cutting a groove into the new arcitrave.

Noisy 1st floor Flooring (not creaking)

The unthreaded part is 10mm. If I'm honest I do not know for sure what size sheets have been used. I have just been messing around in the room. If I thump the floor with a closed fist the noise feels 'raw' like it is resonating along the joists and I can feel it in knees. Thanks for your help...

Noisy 1st floor Flooring (not creaking)

Thanks wgt52, I used Floortite screws (4.2x45mm) which are not threaded all the way through, and apparently do not need a pilot hole. My 'glass half empty' brain was shouting out that there is a problem with joists etc but doing a bit of research, apparently symptom of that is bouncy floors...

Noisy 1st floor Flooring (not creaking)

Season greeting! :) I live in a 3 storey, 11 year old house. When we moved in 6 months ago i noticed the chipboard flooring creaking in one of the 1st floor rooms. I have since added extra screws to the boards (near the original nails) and the creaking has pretty much gone. I added screws to...

Soil Stack & Extractor fan venting to loft

Thanks Stem, i will leave the AAVs as they are then. I can only find insulted flexible ducting for the extractor fan. Would this be ok to use or do i need to source some solid pipe and fittings to meet the roof vent. Thanks for the heads up regarding the condensation trap, if i spot anything...

Afternoon all, Have just moved into a 10 year old 3 storey house and am slowing ploughing through the ever expanding list of problems, due mostly to lack of maintenance by the previous owner. Today i ventured into the loft to find what i think is 2 soil stacks (1 would be for 2 wcs and...

    Pulsing gas

Hi All Sorry if this is in wrong section. When any of the 'rings' are turned on on my Arriston cooker hob, the gas sort of pulses. This can be seen and heard. This is the best way i can decribe it. My partner has also said she has noticed it when taking the reading on the gas meter...

Hi All, i have a sizeable tropical fish tank which needs water changes quite regurly. Would i be able to use this water to water my lawn? Would the fish waste and excess food damage the lawn or act as a fertiliser in some way? Would it smell or attract unwanted visitors? Anyone got any...
