Ok so there is a chance they are separating. Should I remove the screws, pilot then refit in the same place or would the flooring be damaged so I need to rescrew in a new location.?

I had this before and I just cut the piece off as it was easier than cutting a groove into the new arcitrave.

The unthreaded part is 10mm. If I'm honest I do not know for sure what size sheets have been used. I have just been messing around in the room. If I thump the floor with a closed fist the noise feels 'raw' like it is resonating along the joists and I can feel it in knees. Thanks for your help...

Thanks wgt52, I used Floortite screws (4.2x45mm) which are not threaded all the way through, and apparently do not need a pilot hole. My 'glass half empty' brain was shouting out that there is a problem with joists etc but doing a bit of research, apparently symptom of that is bouncy floors...

To update this.... guy from transco came out and said the outlet pipe from the govner was blocked with water. He blew down it and it hasnt done it since. Guy was here all of 2 minutes and arrived within an hour of the phone call. Many thanksfor the number.

when you say ressed the patchy bits do you mean just scatter the seeds over the area or do i need to put top soil over them as well?

Well managed to do my first cut a few days ago as some areas had shot up whilst others are still only short. For some reason i now have a few brown patches in th elonger areas. I had the lawnmower set on its highest setting. Anyone have any ideas on why its gone brown?
