    Stuck wheel bolt

Happy to report I get the bleeding thing off. Got a 30 ins breaker next day from amazon. Took some doing and a few swear words. I will send a snottogram to national tyre centres for what its worth and mention the bolts. It doesn't look too clever and its starting to rust and has some gunk in...

    Stuck wheel bolt

Thank you so much for the suggestions guys. Gives me some things to try tomorrow. Yep I put them back on when I threw in the towel earlier, don't want anyone to drive off with one nut on, although that might help remove it haha

    Stuck wheel bolt

Hi, I went to change my wheels now that the temperature is dropping. I have a set of alloys with summer tyres on them and a set of steels with winter tyres on them. 3/4 changed no problem, the last one I could not get off, managed to get 4 bolts off with an impact wrench but the last bolt will...

    Dulux decorative paints voucher

Morning Opps, I spoke to Dulux this morning and told them about my voucher problem. They were very helpful and are sending me out a voucher for trade diamond matt that I can use in the dulux decorator centre. They weren't sure why bq and homebase won't take it and are going to get in touch with...

    Dulux decorative paints voucher

Hi opps, thank you for your suggestion. I will contact them after the weekend to ask and post back here. I did one coat of trade diamond matt on a ceiling and it looks cracking. 3x coats of easycare on the wall and I'm still not totally happy. Steering well clear of retail in future!

Hi All, I bought some dulux easycare and it wasn't very good and peeled so I rang them up and they sent me a voucher for another can. Nowhere wants to take it, tried bq, home base and b&m as suggested on the website but they all say they don't take them any more. I tried the dulux decorator...

What is wrong with my uPVC double doors?

Thank you Millwright and Crank39 for your advice. Sure enough it cooled down a bit and I was able to lock it. Is there any particular way to rectify the lack of space between the doors or adjust them? Or is it a case of trial and error and seeing what works? I guess my main issue is I always...

What is wrong with my uPVC double doors?

Hi, can anyone please help me with a problem I am having with my uPVC double doors on this nice sunny day? I have an integral garage in my house, I don't use it for a car so about 6 years ago I had some uPVC double doors put on instead of the regualr garage door. In hot weather I always have an...

    Readymix Mortar - which brand?

Hi SirGalahad, I'm no pro Brickie, but I used both the Hanson's and blue circle quality assured mortars building 2 small walls in my garden. I found the Hanson's was actually what I preferred out of the two. I seemed to get better results and work quicker with it. The Hanson's was also more...

    Applying tanking slurry without rendering

Thanks for the link, I must be getting my wires crossed. "Brick- and blockwork substrates Any remaining plaster, render or other substances that could inhibit bonding must be removed back to the substrate. Implies to me that it would be alright straight on the brick I think this is the link...

    Applying tanking slurry without rendering

Hi, I am thinking of applying tanking slurry to the inside of my external garage to solve a penetrating damp problem. I have done what I can from the outside but unfortunately the layou means I cannot access 2 out of the 3 external walls from the outside. I've been looking at Ka tankling...

    Damp garage - tanking query

Hi Notch, Thanks for that I'll have a look into it guttering, the boundary side does get a good battering when it rains. I was thinking of tanking the inside based on not being able to do much to the outside of the wall due to the smal gap on one wall and the other being a retaining wall...

    Damp garage - tanking query

Hi all, I have an garage at the back of my house that is very damp, the water seems to be coming in at the back which is a retaining wall and on the left hand side which is right next to my neighbour's garage with a small gap inbetween about a foot or slightly more. The garage roof was...

Detecting pipes/cables when drilling into external wall

I'm not 100% sure, at a guess Bricks are 4 inches where I can measure with the total being from outside to inside being a foot, so leaves 4 inches for the cavity, plastering, tiles and paper after taking off 2X 4 inch bricks, sorry its a guesstimate at best.
