Bolting doubled up rafters and trimmers?

Hi. I have made a roof with the velux openings. Both trimmers and rafters have been doubled up. I have screwed them together and used joist hangers where needed. What is purpose of bolting them when the rafters run full span and the trimmers all sit in hangers? I have screwed them with...

Hi. My lean to roof will have air vents in front soffit to allow air into roof. Inside, the ceiling will be levelled with living room. Is an air brick on side necessary in roof wall to aid airflow? Or am I fine without one. Seen a few extensions with air bricks for roof. Thanks

Hi. I have a 15 degree pitched roof on extension. On my main roof I have sandtoft double roman tiles. I want to use matching tiles on extension. The minimum headlap for tiles on a 17.5 degree pitch is 100mm. For a 22.5 degree it's 75mm. Technical spec says 120mm maximum headlap but doesn't...

Ledger board bolt spacing for lean to roof.

47mm board + 75mm wall = 122mm 18mm protruding for washer and nut. Even if it were to go a little in cavity I've read there's no issues. Cheers

Ledger board bolt spacing for lean to roof.

What is spacing for ledger board that spans 4.3m long and is beating on internal leaf block work? The board is 7x2 the rafters will sit on top off the ledger board. I was thinking 750mm centres staggered but starting at 200mm from bearing. I'm using 140mm m12 through bolts. Thanks

Recessed gas box and cavity tray, dpm

Hi. Yes I'm aware of height to be between 500mm and 1000mm from ground level. Problem is I have put the inner leaf blocks up so can the tray be fitted or am I better off grinding inch of mortar and inserting dpm as tray. I have dpm 1000ga which is 250micro units (0.25mm) so that should be fine...
