    Trench filling with water

The chap who did digging dug until he reached good clay. We are about 600-800mm below house foundations but can double check. Trench is about 1.2m to 1.4m deep. A friend of mine did same repair to his pipe so that should be fairly straightforward to repair. The neighbour has conservatory but...

    Trench filling with water

Thanks for replies. Not sure about repairing the pipe. It only drips sometimes. And it's quite slow. There is a small crack underneath collar. How would you repair this? I have build over agreement. Also need bco to come out but ideally want to sort water problem out first. The water built up...

    Trench filling with water

Hi. Yes there was a patio area there. About the "dpc" it was topped up with hard core. The water is coming out from below the dpc sheet below pipe. It's on the inside part of trench. It can't be toilet water since there is no bathroom for last 6 months. Also water has not been on for 6...

    Trench filling with water

Hi. I've had trench dug out for single storey rear extension. Water is filling trench up. It seems to be ground water. What's best way to deal with this? Had 1 foot of water over 24hrs for 4x5m trench. Also sewer pipe is cracked underneath and is slowly dripping.

    Fire door casing

My mistake. Opening is 762. I was referring to 700mm from built in stops which is effectively width to get stuff in and out. One more question. I have built the frames exactly to 762mm opening. You think it would be wiser to do the remaining 3 at 10mm wider so 30 inch door wouldn't require any...

    Fire door casing

I'm not sure if these were meant to be for commercial use since they are very thick 65mm (actual 58mm). I had to cut the header to size and trench them too which was a pain. The doorway is narrower due to thickness. Just hope I'll get my furniture inside. Yes will keep them for now but will use...

    Fire door casing

Hi. It is rebated on other side with a section for intumescent strip. On the header it is stamped with fd30. It's a bloody chunky frame. Fitted3 but wish I'd known about the 44mm ones.

    Fire door casing

I bought following door cases 108mm by 58mm. I don't understand why they are realy chunky. I had to make the trenches too. Problem I have is due to thickness of frame the opening is 1 inch less on each side compared to normal door casing. Also it's for 45mm doors? I've fitted 3 altogether...

I spoke to a plasterer with excellent feedback. He said best go with flush but not to worry about few mm. No more than 3mm though. Thanks for all the input.

    Rewire specifications

Done most of the boxes. I've left them protruding by 3mm so once skimmed will level up to it. (Just thought it would be better ) Do electricians prefer earth on bottom or top. I have fitted boxes in but on sockets some I have positioned with earth at top. Not done switch yet but was...
