Dow 785+ or 785n for sealing acrylic shower tray?

I have a walk in shower & am guessing the tray is acrylic rather than ceramic by the feel of it. Just wondering which of the above would be better for resealing it? Think I read 785+ isn't suitable for plastic as might be adhesion problems but would love an expert's view thanks

Dow 785+ Grey silicone not curing

I didn't use meths yesterday but have redone it this morning & used meths to clean it beforehand. I'll see if it makes any difference but still tacky at the mo (4 hours later)

Dow 785+ Grey silicone not curing

Has anyone had a problem with Dow 785+ grey silicone not curing? My tube was only opened in April, doesn't expire till next year & has been stored correctly (cling film over the opening then nozzle screwed on). I have a tiny bit of silicone on vertical line in shower that's coming away from the...

Paint peeling in newly decorated bathroom

That's a good shout John, thanks as the decorator uses Johnstones trade paints. Great.

Paint peeling in newly decorated bathroom

I've just phoned Crown to query use of the paint in bathrooms. They say there won't be any health risk but it's obviously not a bathroom paint & might not be up to the task. The decorator is coming back in the near future to do ensuite ceiling & coving (which is bad for peeling) & I just know...

Paint peeling in newly decorated bathroom

Thanks John, that makes sense to me. Think he only put one coat on so I'm guessing he should have given it a light sanding beforehand?

Paint peeling in newly decorated bathroom

Thanks for your reply. I did check the tin & the VOC rating was minimal (0 - 0.29) so I'm guessing there wouldn't be any health risk at those levels (the chemicals listed were the same as those in my Zinsser perma white paint). Why is nothing ever straightforward in life!

Paint peeling in newly decorated bathroom

I had a decorator in last week to tape my bathroom ceiling which had a crack. He then painted the ceiling & coving. There has been a slight problem with small parts of the coving paint peeling in the past (even though there's a fan & I make sure window is open during & after showers. He was...

    Dark marks on bedroom ceiling

Hard to tell tbh as difficult to get close enough to check due to sloping roof. Got a roofer coming in Jan to replace some tiles so will ask him to check it out (assuming it would be his line of work rather than a joiner?)

    Dark marks on bedroom ceiling

I think the entire attic probably already has the recommended level as the house is only 4 yrs old. What would you recommend as a top up?

    Dark marks on bedroom ceiling

Thanks Woody. Haven't any experience of insulation. Should we put more on covering the whole room or just the sides? Any recommendations & will paint cover the marks?

    Dark marks on bedroom ceiling

Hi, I live in a 4 yr old bungalow and noticed last night one of the bedrooms has dark marks on the ceiling mostly along the edges. They seem to have just appeared all of a sudden. It is at the back of the house, doesn't get a lot of sun & has 2 outside walls. Had a look in the loft but couldn't...

Wasps entering through soffits - possible nest

Ended up getting a wasp removal guy out today - he reckoned there was 2 nests (both on different sides of the house). Used a bulb duster tool to apply the powder & touch wood when I checked tonight there was no wasps around the soffits. Makes me wonder if I should invest in a bulb duster &...

Wasps entering through soffits - possible nest

House is only 3.5 yrs old & no evidence of any leaks or rot tbh.

Wasps entering through soffits - possible nest

Yeah I'd rather prevent any potential damage. I'm assuming underneath the soffit will be wood which they'll be gnawing on? I know the council can get rid of nests but wondering if I'm too late as they'll be dying off soon & they don't use the same nest twice?
