Can't get the trap tightened to waste!

Hi John, jobs a goodun. Pipe came straight out. I've read that solvent welds are a far better job but for simplistity is it not just easier for me to push a new piece of pipe into that elbow?

Can't get the trap tightened to waste!

Yes I've just discovered that mate I need to extend that grey drain pipe which can be easily done as I can reach outside and pull it through the wall and replace. Can anyone tell me how I disconnect this?

Can't get the trap tightened to waste!

It seems to be fine with regards to length as the coupler or P Trap can fit on the stub, as you call it, and get right home with pipe to spare. It's just that even when it's all tightened the trap or coupler just slides right off! How can I make that stub longer? I assume it's pulling it out...

Can't get the trap tightened to waste!

Back again to ask ya more silly questions. The grey waste is 32mm and the trap is 32mm but when tightened the trap slides straight off thus I have a leak here. In the picture you see I've added a straight coupler but the same result is had when I use the trap. The straight coupler is required...

How can I tidy this up?

LOL I hear ya, but outside of lifting the floor to gain access to the pipes I am looking the next best option. I think I will add a female coupler to the cistern connector to add around 50mm or so to the span of the flexi. IMO it's the best option for appearances purposes. If the floor gets...

How can I tidy this up?

The panel to the right is just a we 'under the basin unit' if that makes any difference for the positioning of the cold feed? I'll check out your other suggestions too for my own piece of mind. Cheers for that Rob ;) EDIT - Actually I see what ya mean about the positioning of the cold water...

How can I tidy this up?

The "punter" is a mate and I'm helping them out. You say it's still an eyesore without offering a better solution. I live in a new build and mine isn't much better. What would you do differently?

How can I tidy this up?

LOL there's sufficient play on the flexi though. The copper pipe coming up through the floor has a slight amount of play on it. What do you advise then, adding a coupler at the cistern end to add a bit of length? The 500mm flexi is far too big.

    Radiator not centred between pipes

Thanks guys managed to get it all sorted. Just added a tail to the other side and centred the radiator.

How can I tidy this up?

Thanks mate. I know the after pic looks as if the pipe is being pulled to the left due to flexi being tight but that isn't the case. It's just the angle of the picture.

How can I tidy this up?

Was thinking of a flexi with isolation valve on it.

How can I tidy this up?

What about a flexi straight to pipe coming up from floor? Any issues with doing this?

How can I tidy this up?

Thanks. When you say that nuts don't look correct, can you elaborate?

How can I tidy this up?

Hey guys, As per title? I'm getting leaks around the 15mm nuts on the small length of copper connected to the isolation valve. The obvious is to replace the isolation valve, replace the pipe and nuts and replace flexi. But that's the obvious to a novice. What would you pros do?

    Radiator not centred between pipes

Many thanks mate. Yeah I am comfortable enough doing that. I'm a competent type when it comes to stuff like that but I make sure and do my homework first so as to try and avoid any mishaps. When you say "pressurising the system" can you elaborate? FYI it's a gas heating system with a Baxi...

    Radiator not centred between pipes

Yeah I'm on Screwfix now getting a new TRV for it as it looks unsightly. Is this what I need? http://www.screwfix.com/p/white-chrome-angled-trv-with-lockshield-15mm/31811
