    Sealing Plywood subfloor

Hi all, I'm going to put laminate on a plywood subfloor, the subfloor is new but after plastering very dusty. What is the best way of sealing the dust. Is neat SBR the way to go? Thanks.

    Preventing cracks on lintel

Thanks ree, I should not have asked if I know what I wanted to do. I get a builder and see what it will cost. Thanks.

    Preventing cracks on lintel

I have to add, all lintels in the house are the same, I already redone 2 rooms, all rooms have the same cracks (they are not wide 1-2mm tops). The kitchen has been done 4 years ago and I did put EML over the area there the cracks have been. So far so good. Other rooms have been redecorated...

    Preventing cracks on lintel

Hello, thank you, no cracks in the brickwork from the outside, the lintel is also one brick course high at the outside. I believe they have been casted. The wall has got a cavity. Would a strap band not work?

    Preventing cracks on lintel

Hi all, just doing a little bit of renovation. I have had cracks in the plaster going from the corner lintel window reveal up. I got the plaster (render) off, the lintel is kind of a monster and it looks not very well supported on the brickwork, only sitting on pack. I believe this coursed...

Non condensing system boiler minimum flow rate

Yes it is true. The TRV heads are universal and can be used on different valves with adapters. Especially than new, the valve closes completely than calling for heat and opening bit by bit until the valve can sense a temp rise. (They do this to know where the pressure point is) I guess this is...

Non condensing system boiler minimum flow rate

Hello, TPI is disabled, it turns the boiler/pump on if one of the TRVs is calling for heat and off if all TRV's are satisfied. The boiler it self does not modulate. I have to agree now what it doesn't make sense using a various speed pump. Do you see any advantage in TPI in my situation?

Non condensing system boiler minimum flow rate

Thank you, I might understand now why a ABV is not good for the PP mode as the pressure increases with flow and the ABV opens further instead of closing. Is their any advantage to use the auto mods of the pump or stick with fixed speed.

Non condensing system boiler minimum flow rate

I get the temp difference at speed II. My ABV is one of them: http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p36612 EDIT: I would prefer the variable speed if it makes any sense.

Non condensing system boiler minimum flow rate

Got it, makes all a bit more sense now :) Would it work if I get a gate valve (as manual bypass valve) and adjust it to a 11C temp difference on the boiler with all trv's closed. which should give me the correct flow? The rads are all balanced.

Non condensing system boiler minimum flow rate

Thanks D_Hailsham, I appreciate your patience. I do use a multi zone system with danfoss link cc, boiler control and danfoss living trv's. Downstairs with danfoss rs. lovely stuff... (not available in the uk, shame) However the trv close and open to find the right pressure point, so you...

Non condensing system boiler minimum flow rate

Hi, we are getting where :) I currently have a automatic bypass but looking at the pump instruction I believe it should be changed to an manual one (not a problem to get it done) I'm currently using trvs on all radiators. Which could be potentially all closed with the pump still running so...

Non condensing system boiler minimum flow rate

Hi all, I have a 10 year old Boulter Camray 5 (non condensing) and had some plumbing done. All on S Plan. I also had a Alpha 2L pump fitted and are currently trying to set the correct speed for me. Can anybody tell me what the minimum flow rate through the boiler should be. Instruction...

    skim over newly skimmed wall

Hi all, I had my bedroom back to bricks, bonded out and skimmed. My plasterer did not do the window reveals to my expectations (not 90 degree to window) so the reveals came off again. All the walls are still bare plaster. He offered to re-bond the reveals and re-skim the window wall. He...
