    Yeh there actually wooden dooks along the top of the wall so it may be a good idea to put more in for peace of mind, cheers

    The plaster appears to be original grey plaster, with no paint or paper etc, it's not boss. Before dot and dab should I prime with pva?

    Hi, How do I dot and dab plasterboard to a chimney breast which is plaster on the hard. What is the best adhesive to use and how thickly do I apply it? Can I use no nails or would it be recommended to use plaster or joint cement etc?! The existing plaster is sound and I am dabbing on 9mm...

    repairing a kitchen ceiling (plasterboard) some help please

    An alternative to taking the ceiling down would be to leave the existing ceiling and 'brander' over the top of it. At 90 degrees to the ceiling joists use 2x1" straps at 600 centres to brander the ceiling ready for re sheeting, the materials for this are inexpensive and a monkey could do it :D
