Doh! didn't think of that. Would you say its something to investigate or should i just tell him to replace the pump???

A friend has a pond pump that im assuming is faulty because each time it is switched on it trips the downstairs ring. The pump in plugged into a RCD adaptor then into the socket. The question i wanted to ask is why does it trip the ring and not just the RCD adaptor?

probably wont be as many as six and now you've mentioned the door contact ill include one of them just getting a rough idea of the set up really. so 8 core cable separately wired to each device back to the panel supplied by a deicated FCU. then hopefully easy to connect and set up!!!!

i know it probably depends on what alarm system it is but is it relatively easy to set up, say 6 PIRs and the bell????

im normally on the electrics forum, so they are all wired separately and then connected at the panel?????

if there were some PIRs put around the house and the bell going on the front of the house, are the PIRs and the bell wired separately?? are they looped?

my mums diplomat washing machine fills with water but doesn't do anything else, at the end of the cycle it then drains some of the water out???? any ideas anyone?

my friend has a 6mm feed to his shower via a double pole pull cord in the bathroom. he has ripped out the shower but wants to use the existing cable for a pump for the new shower, which will be situated in the loft. can the pull cord stay? does a spur have to be fitted? what would be the best...

is there a quick way of telling if the walls in a property have larvae and plaster? think the property was built around 1930's....

on my service charge break down it says that im paying £100 a year for the communal lighting, it says nothing about paying for the elecricity im using in the flat????? how would they know how much im using???

ill try and take some pictures, my flat isnt rented..... my electricity was cut off last year due to the bill not being paid, once the builder paid it we were put back on.......

i have been in my new build flat for nearly 2 years and not paid an electricity bill. The reason for this is because there are not separate meters for the ten flats just one meter in the cupboard. Is this allowed? why aren't there meters for each flat? my flat has also been NICEIC tested aswell.....
