    Stupid question but whereon the underside of the bath do i beed to put the sealant . Is it between the backnut and brass washer or brass washer and rubber or between the rubber and the underside of the bath?

    Ive just retightened the backnut again. Its not leaking as much but it seems to be coming from the inside of the backnut and down the thread

    One other note - so the flanges/collars on the tap i have are not fixed, so one other option i guess i have is to go to a fixed flange/collar tap as think it leaks from there when water goes on top

    I can do but thats exactly what i did yesterday. I bought a essex fix a tap kit and fitted the new rubber seals and brass backnut yesterday and still leaking only on the hot tap.

    Yes but input on a new fix a tap kit today , so not sure whats going on. Cold tap is fine . Hot tap is the problem

    The taps are not new taps .. Maybe i wasnt clear in my explanation. Taps are existing - about 3 years old but we didnt have a shower above the bath until 2 weeks ago.     Just to get back on this post - the hot water problems haven’t occurred again until last night and today . When i went in the airing cupboard and removed the junk in there i did find another valve - see picture . Didn’t see it last time as i didn’t remove all the junk in the cupboard.
