Ok thanks will try and see what I can hook it up with as it keeps falling down. That would just be dirty water from the sink going down there? Do you think that could be it although I wouldn't say there is much dirty water that goes down there.

Surely I'd smell something at the drain? Admittedly I've not put my head right in but haven't noticed a smell. We did have a blockage last year or possibly year before and had to get in some guys who just plunger'd it and it cleared. The water level still looks ok and flowing ok.

Just taken a closer look and I can see there are 3 screws holding up the almost 3m piece of batten. The middle one is just turning and although it feels tight, as soon as I put weight on it, it comes away again. So I guess either the screws are screwed, I need longer or just more
