    Gas combi pressure query

I've noticed over the last couple of days that in the evening, our boiler pressure drops to around 1bar but then in the morning it hits about 3. I first noticed this after I noticed it low one evening and refilled back to just over 1, but then the following morning it was on 3. To confirm this...

Unfortunately not and doesn't appear to be any more slack on the cable

    Smelly drain

This is about the best I can do with the slack I have. Doesn't seem much but hopefully enough

    Smelly drain

That's what I was thinking of when I get home, maybe a cable tie or something to hold it up. What water would be discharging into this though, from the sink or dishwasher? On another note and not sure if it's related but after we had the new washing machine installed, we are getting a gargling...

    Smelly drain

Ok thanks will try and see what I can hook it up with as it keeps falling down. That would just be dirty water from the sink going down there? Do you think that could be it although I wouldn't say there is much dirty water that goes down there.

    Smelly drain

Surely I'd smell something at the drain? Admittedly I've not put my head right in but haven't noticed a smell. We did have a blockage last year or possibly year before and had to get in some guys who just plunger'd it and it cleared. The water level still looks ok and flowing ok.

    Smelly drain

I'm hoping someone can help. Our kitchen drain smells when water is running. We don't have any blockages, poured lots of different blockage and other things down there and stripped out the plastic pipework under the sink and cleaned it out. I've checked the drain outside, used Keyes fluid and...

how to fix a wide curtain pole

Just taken a closer look and I can see there are 3 screws holding up the almost 3m piece of batten. The middle one is just turning and although it feels tight, as soon as I put weight on it, it comes away again. So I guess either the screws are screwed, I need longer or just more

how to fix a wide curtain pole

Ok thanks, although it's not screwed at the moment, assume because of the lintel.

how to fix a wide curtain pole

I've got an 18ft window which holds 2 pairs of curtains and 18ft pole. It's currently secured to the wall via 2 wood battens but the right hand one is coming loose. Any recommendations for the best grab adhesive out there to hold this weight? Looking at Screwfix it looks like lots of options...

    Wet floor boards

I think it must be. Although I was checking it daily originally and on the whole it appeared to be ok, there was sometimes a small puddle, probably size of an old 50p piece in the cupboard but assume it was running down the pipe. We've had the washing machine out on some cardboard and used it...

    Wet floor boards

We've had a leak under our kitchen sink which has left some damage. We don't know how it's happened but all we know is that we woke one day to the cupboard being filled with water a couple months ago and another morning where there was water in front the washing machine which is adjacent to the...

    Cistern slow drip and filling

So after getting frustrated I had guy we use come and look at it yesterday. He found the seal on the main point into the cistern wasn't great so he replaced it and then found some silicone had got in there potentially stopping the seal. This was on the main central unit in the picture and not...

    Cistern slow drip and filling

I checked through the video and it doesn't seem to be leaking as the video shows. I'm not sure if there's an issue where it connects to the bottom of the cistern, I swear when I checked yesterday it moved down. I couldn't see anything dribbling into the pan apart from tiny bubbles so must be...

    Cistern slow drip and filling

Ok thank you and I did find that last night after posting. Also another post on Fluidmaster website about ghost flushing and the flapper. Oddly it seems better so far today for no particular reason

    Cistern slow drip and filling

Sorry where would this seal be, on the base? Nothing leaking around the toilet itself.

    Cistern slow drip and filling

Ok so it seems I spoke too soon and it's back to around every couple of minutes again. It is a screwdriver valve and I think it was at around 11 o'clock originally although I possibly altered it slightly when turning it off and it's still filling the same amount albeit a bit noisier. So you...
