    Stepping stones, probably..?

Good afternoon all. I need to add some stepping stones, or equivalent, to the garden as the grass which was laid about 18 months ago is taking some hammer. Firstly, are there any alternatives? Secondly, is it the same princple of dig deep, hardcore, then cement, then slab? Cheers

I need to build a wardrobe. Is it easy?

Thanks guys ColJack - yes, it is. I've got a while to look at it as the spare room won't be 'filled' until June(ish). I know a good joiner locally and will probably ask him for a price. If there's a big difference I'll probably have a crack at it myself...

I need to build a wardrobe. Is it easy?

I'm handy(ish). But better with the bigger tasks such as re-lanscaping the garden etc. Tools I have at the minute: - Drill Jigsaw Planer I'll take a look at the links, thanks. Just fancied having a go myself as I was forecasting that a pro would charge 100s.

Nicely insulated loft, but now water's dripping!

I wouldn't know what eaves vents look like ot be honest but I'm going to go up into the loft over the weekend to see if I can sort it. The insulation was put in professionally by the way. Or should that be 'professionally'!

I need to build a wardrobe. Is it easy?

Evening all Our spare room will be filled up in June (!) and I need to sort out a wardrobe. It is a small room so there is now real space for a free standing wardrobe. At the moment there is a built in cupboard with a swing door on the side (as seen below). What I want to do is somehow...

Nicely insulated loft, but now water's dripping!

We've just had the loft insulated and it's freezing up there so I guess it's worked.. The only problem now is that condensation is building up on the inside of the loft roof. Any pointers?

    Stealing some of the garage!

Thanks all This still isn't sounding like too much work to me, or cost for that matter. Am I being a bit naive? Is there much more to consider than this: - * Replace the door from the kitchen to tha garage with an archway * Fit a uPVC door from the garage to the garden * Create a...

    Stealing some of the garage!

Thanks for that. I think we'll still need some storage space for mower, garden kit and bikes etc... We don't have any other storage space for the outside stuff. The garage is only single skin. Does that mean we would lose some space as the plasterboard would need to leave a cavity...

    Stealing some of the garage!

Evening all. Our garage joins onto the side of our house with access from the kitchen through a door. There's also a door from the garage to the back garden and also a pull over garage door to the front. A few of our neighbours have stolen about 2/3 of their garage to make a kitchen...

How long can this noise go on for?!?!?

Thanks all Just slightly disappointed that our flexibilty has not been recipricated. More than 'happy' for the banging and knocking to be done in work hours, but just a bit cheesed off when it starts up again until after 8pm and all day on Sundays. Never mind, It'll all be over soon

How long can this noise go on for?!?!?

Cheers fella. I've just been round there but didn't get much of a sympathetic response. I expected at least a 'sorry about the noise' but all I got was '20 minutes more'. Trust me, I'm not a moaning minnie at all. I am totally ok with the fact that we too could have an extension, and it's...

How long can this noise go on for?!?!?

Really? Aren't there any construction/building regs to stop it going on later than normal working hours. I am suprised I must say

How long can this noise go on for?!?!?

Evening all Our neighbours are having an extension done, complete with some inside refurbishments. I'm hoping people can help me with a few questions: - 1. What is the earliest that builders are allowed to start work each day? 2. Is work allowed to be carried out on a Sunday and extend...
