    Water to summer house

Morning, I want to run a water supply down the garden to a summerhouse and outside tap, about 30m distance from the house. What's the best way to do this - 15mm plastic pipe (which I can do in a single run)? Insulation? Underground or above? Can speedfit fittings survive outside? Am...

I think that's beyond what I can do with a multimeter!??

    Incoming supply corroded

So if they say it needs doing, they'll cover the cost, but if they say it does not need doing, then it can be left?

    Incoming supply corroded

Thank you - unfortunately most of the insulation done, but it can come up again and at least we've not replaced the carpet and decorated yet! Do you agree that UK Power Networks will meet the cost of doing the work?

    Incoming supply corroded

Thank you - I'm working on insulating the floorboards just above this, so should I happen to touch the outside of this cable then it's the same effectively as touching the earth wire (or even a copper pipe that's connected to it)?

    Incoming supply corroded

So I can contact UK Power Networks and they'll sort it at their cost? Just need to decide now whether it's urgent enough to have contractors in my home given Covid.

    Incoming supply corroded

Hi, This pic is of the supply to the distribution board. The outside is corroded like this in a couple of places under the floor. House is 1930s with suspended floor. How much does this matter? Who's responsibility is it? If it's mine, how much am I looking at to fix it? Many thanks.

    Small foundations

Thanks for taking the time to reply, my only concern with this is that the blocks are very uneven on one side (this side is fake decorative bricks), I was going to have the blocks at the bottom with the uneven side upwards so that the concrete could run into and join to the uneven surface. The...

    Small foundations

Hi, I'm laying concrete to be the foundation of a small garden wall, which will be two blocks high. I've some blocks that are smooth on one side and textured on the other, which were a previous wall. Am thinking of putting them smooth side down on the bottom of the foundation, which will leave...

    Summerhouse base

Morning, I'm wanting to build a summerhouse, and keen to find out all I need to know before starting. The plan is to build something 3mx4m, with the highest point of the roof being <2.5m high. The site is not very level, a few inches drop from one end to the other, and can get very damp in...
