    Fungus???

The downpipe in the pic actually runs inside the utility room, which had been damp due to two leaks. Yesterday it was painted with moisture resistant bathroom paint, and today these brown spores have appeared. They don't wipe off. Any ideas?

    Tumble dryer vent hose

Discovered today that our vent hose was full of water (about half a pint), and in one place the coil had rusted to the extent that it had made a small hole! I think it's as the outlet grid had a fine mesh that had got completely clogged work tiny bits of fluff over time. There is mould on the...

    JCB Combi Chuck

Thanks, overnight in vinegar then using hammer action with a bit of pressure on reverse direction produced enough vibration to loosen it off

    JCB Combi Chuck

The chuck has seized on my drill, which is of course the piece of equipment I use FL the time. Gutted! It turns fine, but the teeth got wet (unknown to me) and rusted. They would only tighten and are fully closed. I've tried some wd40 to no avail. Is there a way to free them up? I've ordered a...

    Car Charging Unit

I've checked with the electrician who's coming in to do the new board and connect it up.

    Car Charging Unit

It worked out cheaper to buy the unit ourselves than to get it done with the grant, as we'd have had to pay for a new distribution board anyway.

    Car Charging Unit

I'm installing a 32A car charger, ahead of a new distribution board being fitted so that it can be hooked up by the electrician. There's no instructions though.... I'm assuming that live and neutral will go into the circuit breaker and earth into the green and yellow adjacent connector to join...

    Cooker connector

No idea, but it did seem odd how quickly they concluded that it couldn't possibly be done, despite the previous cooker's existing wiring. I was very happy for them not to though, I got free delivery and £75 refunded then wired it in myself..... Thanks for the other responses.

    Cooker connector

Morning, I'm getting a new distribution board fitted, and want to run cabling for where a new cooker is going to go (completely new location from existing) beforehand so that it can be connected to the board ahead of the extension being built. I have three questions: 1) Can the switch be in a...

    New radiator not working

I only altered the trvs so should be ok. On note, what's the best way to get some inhibitor into the system without draining? I was thinking of isolating the towel rail (which is also the highest point in the system), bleeding out excess pressure, then remove the cap to syringe out water to...

    New radiator not working

Morning, After allowing the pressure in from both sides, when some air came out too, I forgot to turn on all the other trvs and overnight the pressure seems to have done the trick - it's working nicely now. I isolated all the rads on both sidessbefore draining the system yesterday, so...
